We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as Desk Head, Australia, Japan and International.

Principal responsibilities

  • The Desk Head is responsible for leading and managing a team of Private Banking Relationship Managers within the Australia, Japan and International markets.
  • The Relationship Management teams include a combination of Relationship Managers and Client Service Executives.
  • The Desk Head interfaces with clients but does not have assigned clients under their direct management and is responsible for coordinating all Marketing and Product activity with their client base.
  • Their key role is managing the team to drive and achieve the assigned Key Performance Indicators covering both financial - Revenue, Credit Growth, Net New Assets, Annuity Assets Growth, New Client Acquisition - and non-financial goals. The Desk Head is directly responsible for implementation and delivery of the Supervisory Framework as described within the policy.
  • He/she is responsible for directing the Relationship Manager teams as they cultivate and develop new/existing client relationships through collaboration activities, new to bank introductions as well as deepening share of wallet for existing clients.
  • Identify cross selling opportunities and increase number of successful outward referrals to other GPB booking centers and other Lines of Business of the Group
  • Maintain highest standard of excellence in client service across the team and with individual portfolio
  • Ensure team is collaborating with other functions, products and services for the client
  • The Desk head reports directly to the Market Head, South East Asia International, who in turn reports to the Head of the Singapore Booking Centre

  • Possesses business vision and be able to strategize and prioritize work objectives 
  • Able to manage people well and to attract and retain talent 
  • Able to communicate and work well with senior management as well as with other business groups 
  • Capable of making business decision and provide judgement and clear direction within the established framework 
  • Capable of conducting effective sales management and profit centre management 
  • Capable of working closely with Compliance, Credit and Risk and Internal Control to ensure a balanced risk operating environment 
  • Experience in handling private banking business and knowledge in its related risk management requirement 
  • Experience in sales management and profit centre management 
  • Able to communicate well and possesses good inter-personal and people management skill 
  • Well organised with an ability to prioritise effectively 

The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
