Vision of Cross Border Cross Currency - Payments Cloud Services is to introduce lean and reusable payment orchestration engine that will route payments from initiation through security to a successful execution. It will remove bespoke and duplicate code and insert effective touch points with specialized applications needed for the payment journey (customer channel / industry gateway, sanctions screening, fraud and money laundering prevention, generation of payments instructions, submission to payment processors, bookkeeping). It will be an enabler to deliver new product features at high speed, low cost and with the desired quality.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Technical Architect in Payments Services IT.


What you’ll do:
    • Own the strategic technical architecture design and participate in development for the application of CBCC PCS, ensuring service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives are met.
    • Produce and maintains the complex technical infrastructure to meet business requirements. Perform reviews of new and existing systems to ensure operational integrity and accomplishment of stated objectives.
    • Provide technical solutions to business problems, technical leadership and direction to management.
    • Own the transformation of the current PCS applications and solution aligning with our elevated Architecture.
    • Collaborate with enterprise architecture and senior management to define cloud strategy and perform PoC on new technologies.
    • Provide technical leadership and consultation to PCS team members. Provides architecture guidance to developers based on best practices and in alignment with global standards. 
    • Resolve architectural or development blockers raised
    • Partner with DevOps team to enable automated infrastructure delivery, DevSecOps value streams are executed and CI /CD pipelines to deploy services.


What you need to have to succeed in this role:
    • Minimum of 10 years of applied experience as an API architect, engineering background in back-end Java application development, application security and authentication development, Spring Boot, cache and middleware.
    • Experienced in cloud managed services - GCP/AWS/Azure, producing scalability, resilience, highly available, cost-effective designs, integration design.
    • Strong experience in microservices design patterns, in API designing and creating architectural artefacts such as gap analysis, low level designs, data models etc.
    • Solid knowledge on infrastructure like Linux OS, networking, storage, load-balancer, etc. 
    • Expertise in JVM tuning and diagnostic for application troubleshooting and performance-optimization; docker, k8s, service mesh; monitoring and observability technologies like AppDynamics, Splunk, Jaeger, Kiali, Open Telemetry; cloud and DevOps, familiar to network (VPC) and firewall on cloud, iAM, cloud costing.
    • Expert-level SQL coding abilities is preferred.
    • Superior listening skills, ability to learn quickly, and willing to accept accountability for company and individual success, the passion and ability to lead/motivate and develop technologist, including mentoring and coaching, exceptional team player.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, ability to negotiate, resolve conflicts and influence technical choices relating to business, development and architectural requirements. 

Nice to have:
    • TOGAF certificate & payments knowledge is an advantage
