The Group Chief Information Office (GCIO) Chief Operating Office (COO) team has aligned teams for each of the Global Business and Global Functions. This role is part of the GCIO aligned COO Central Portfolio & Accountability Management team.
Central Portfolio Accountability Management (PAM) is a horizontal function that cuts across HSBCs global technology portfolios. The function offers a unique opportunity to focus on wide range of scenarios for problem-solving and identify opportunities that would keep the portfolios delivering on track. This opens a fantastic prospect to unleash your talent and while learning latest insight techniques with emerging tech. The role also offers a cross functional exposure and networking opportunity while closely gaining exposure to executive priorities at a bank-wide level.
What you’ll do
- The role holder will support the Portfolio & Accountability Management Delivery Lead.
- Provide effective portfolio governance and oversight.
- Work with Business and Transformation leads to prioritise and schedule programme delivery.
- Hold programme managers to account throughout the programme delivery.
- Establish and maintain strong collaboration with 2LOD and 3LOD.
- Ensure appropriate Estimation is undertaken for in scope Sponsored Change Initiatives and Value Streams.
- Support all activities related to Portfolio Programme Management, Business Cases, NFRs & Clarity.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Proven experience 5+ years in portfolio and programme management within complex, matrixed organisations.
- Strong background in financial services, ideally within a multinational banking environment.
- Solid understanding of technology delivery methodologies and their practical application.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, synthesize insights, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with risk management practices, including collaboration with 2LOD and 3LOD.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, with the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships.
- Experience in estimation techniques and translating financials into delivery metrics.
- Ability to support business case development, non-financial risk assessments, and Clarity reporting.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of HSBC’s internal structures, strategy, and governance processes.
- Exposure to regulatory and market environments affecting banking technology.
- Experience with sponsored change initiatives and value stream alignment.
- Familiarity with portfolio governance frameworks and executive-level reporting.
- Active participation in cross-functional teams and global networking initiatives.
