Your career opportunity

We are hiring a Service Reliability Engineer to join the Digital Business Automation (DigiBA) team in CTO Infrastructure. Our platform provides mission-critical services including Control-M, IBM Sterling File Gateway, and Connect:Direct — supporting thousands of batch and file movement operations daily across HSBC’s global estate.

In this role, you will focus on data-driven reliability engineering — turning insights from incidents, change records, capacity data, and operational KPIs into tangible improvements. You will partner with engineering and operations teams to drive platform stability, identify patterns, and embed proactive practices across our distributed and mainframe-based environments.

What you’ll do
    • Analyse incident and change data to identify patterns, root causes, and systemic risks.
    • Define and track service health metrics (MTTR, failure rates, change success, etc.).
    • Partner with product and support teams to implement reliability improvements.
    • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting to support visibility and accountability.
    • Support automation and tooling initiatives to reduce toil and improve response times.
    • Contribute to readiness assessments for releases and major infrastructure events.
    • Collaborate across global teams to ensure service resilience is embedded in ways of working.

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Experience in service reliability, production support, or platform operations at scale.
    • Strong analytical mindset and ability to interpret trends across complex data sets.
    • Familiarity with automation/orchestration platforms such as Control-M or IBM SFG.
    • Understanding of ITIL principles (esp. incident, problem, and change) and DevOps culture.
    • Experience with monitoring tools, dashboards, and reporting solutions (e.g. Splunk, Grafana, Power BI).
    • Knowledge of distributed systems, batch processing, and file transfer workflows.
    • Proactive communicator with strong documentation and facilitation skills.
    • Passion for continuous improvement and a user-oriented reliability mindset.

What we offer
    • Competitive salary
    • Annual performance-based bonus
    • Additional bonuses for recognition awards
    • Multisport card
    • Private medical care
    • Life insurance
    • One-time reimbursement of home office set-up (up to 800 PLN).

    • Nursery discounts
    • Financial support with trainings and education
    • Social fund
    • Flexible working hours

    • Hybrid working with on-site collaboration as a key element of team culture
