By working with various stakeholders including Global ESG Solutions team, Products, Business, risk stewards, COO, Transformation, Group Sustainable Finance and other functions, the role holder will contribute and deliver the ESG strategy across the full client continuum (Wealth and Private Bank) in the UK to implement a globally consistent and locally relevant best-in-class ESG proposition, sharing global guidance and best practice.
What you’ll do
• Leadership: Supporting thought-leadership workstream, content editing, updating and reviewing for both internal and external publications to support thought leadership and marketing workstream.
• Marketing: Supporting the workstream’s deliverables and partnering with the local marketing teams for adaptation and implementation of projects and campaigns such as client events.
• Products: Driving ESG product governance and approval, providing support on an ongoing basis to translate investment ideas into approved product capability to meet business growth targets while ensuring the right client outcomes are achieved. Ensure consistent classification of Group Sustainable Investments definition as well as UK requirements/regs.
• Risk and Regulation: keeping appraised of evolving industry developments in ESG investing and new regulatory standards in UK, through cooperation with other Group entities and risk stewards, to gain insight into emerging risks, best practices and interpretations. Coordinate and implement necessary changes in the UK to meet Group’s internal ESG framework and local regulatory requirements.
• Business Management: ongoing support to the ESG team and work with COO team in coordinating reports, events, activities. This also includes supporting group reporting requirement and client facing teams on their ESG requests.
• Client journey integration: through close interaction with Global ESG Solutions team, drive and support the implementation of deployment of ESG capabilities in the UK, including client reporting, advisory integration and preference capturing.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
• Knowledge and experience of investment product and services along with their associated risks.
• Passionate about ESG topic. Having prior ESG experience will be preferred.
• Previous experience in wealth management, private banking, proposition development, strategy consulting and/or analytics with exposure to strategy development, proposition formation, product development, commercial management across specific traditional and/or digital financial product categories and customer segments.
• Knowledge of Wealth/Private Banking client journey and the UK market to include regulatory framework, competitor landscape, customer and industry insights.
• Experience with multi-geography team/across various client segments.
• Understanding of HSBC WPB Strategy and the Group is beneficial. Willingness to learn (IMC, CFA and/or Certificate in ESG investing underway).
