We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of Controls Assurance – China and Malaysia CoEs.

Principal responsibilities

  • Completing the buildout of the teams, ensuring that the division has the necessary skills and resources to meet the assessment plan.
  • Developing a realistic, yet comprehensive global testing plan for WPB and Insurance.
  • Leading the team in executing the CA assessment plan, ensuring that testing is accurate, effective and abides by CA procedures and templates, and meets quality control requirements.
  • Driving a high performance and supportive culture in the teams, energising staff by creating opportunities and developing capabilities, promoting the highest standards and celebrating success, supporting employee well-being, and collaborating to innovate.
  • Driving the delivery of assurance reviews led by the teams, setting ambitious targets and using experience/ knowledge to intervene and redirect testing as required, resolving escalations when they arise.
  • Managing senior CoE stakeholders and collaborating with Risk and Compliance Services, and other Risk and Compliance functions in the regions and/or at a global level, to ensure the effective delivery of the assurance.
  • Managing the site budget, staff headcounts and cumulative on-boarding of new team members.
  • Participating in the Global CA and RCAS management teams, helping drive cross-team initiatives, including feeding into people initiatives, procedures, templates, MI and training requirements, to continuously improve the operating effectiveness of the division globally
  • Continuously assessing the control testing framework by developing and implementing innovative approaches to CA testing and reviews with the support from A&A.    
    Requirements
    • Minimum of 8 years proven experience in financial services compliance, testing, audit and/or legal management experience or equivalent.
    • Excellent understanding of banking financial and non-financial risks, and the aptitude to learn about new and emerging risk types.
    • Experienced overall leader, with excellent communication skills, a people-oriented and polished management style, and a proven track record of leading through change.
    • An innovative and forward-thinking mindset, and a proven ability to question, evaluate, and improve existing business processes and adequacy of information.
    • Experience working with a global team and creating and working to global standards of quality.
    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in related field such as business, finance, law or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred.
    • Requires understanding of the changing regulatory landscape regarding compliance functions within the banking industry.
    • Fluent in both oral and written English.      

    Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
