Risk and Compliance - Insurance and Product Risk Management

Hang Seng's Risk and Compliance ("RKM") strives to maintain a well-balanced risk profile for the Bank while enabling businesses to thrive. Our team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types. We are dedicated to collaborate with businesses, other functional units and regulatory bodies to develop and implement robust and customized risk management frameworks and measures to maintain the strong market position of the Bank.

The Insurance and Product Risk Management Function develops and reviews governance and process of new products and services approval of the Bank to balance business need of time to market delivery and at the same time ensure key risks are identified and properly mitigated in accordance with the Risk Appetite of the bank.
 
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join us as Head of Insurance and Product Risk.

Principal responsibilities

• Act in the capacity of Chief Risk Officer of Hang Seng Insurance Company Limited and Key Person in Charge of Risk Management of the Insurance Authority to ensure an effective Enterprise Risk Management of the Company.
• Optimize the risk and reward relationship of insurance business activities and contribute to the Bank’s strategy plan.
• Lead the team and other risk steward to develop, maintain and enhance risk management and control systems to methodically identify, control and manage both the financial and non-financial risks inherent in insurance business.
• Effectively engage with relevant regulators to ensure compliance of regulatory expectations and requirements in Risk Management.
• Provide risk challenges and recommendations from risk perspective for new product development and investment activities of Life Manufacturing Business.
• Review and challenge proposals in different governance committees including RMM, ALCO, Product Committee and Investment Committee.
• Monitor and manage risk and return of investment portfolio of Life Manufacturing business.
• Oversee and manage key outsourcing risk of Life and Retirement business of Hang Seng Insurance.
• Collaborate with Group Insurance Risk and other Group Stakeholder to effectively implement all Group’s requirements for Life Insurance Business.

• University degree or above in Business Administration, Actuarial Science or related disciplines, preferably with professional qualifications in Actuary and Risk Management.
• Over 15 years of relevant experience in risk management of Life Manufacturing Business.
• Strong leadership and management capability in developing and motivating employees, with excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and project management skills.
• Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes.
• Proficiency in both English and Cantonese. Mandarin is an advantage.
