Head of US Insurance is responsible for the distribution of insurance products and services for Private Banking and Retail Wealth US and non US clients.
Reporting to the Head of WPS, this is a senior role at country level with the responsibility for generating new and strengthening existing relationships to achieve the challenging insurance business development needs. 

  • As our Head of International Wealth & Private Banking Insurance, US you will:
  • Be Responsible for defining and driving the  distribution proposition for HSBC Insurance, US including ensuring that all business requirements for successful participation in the market are met. Accountable for achieving financial goals through the promotion of insurance products and services and using a sophisticated range of communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders to deliver fair outcomes for all types of customers.
  • Work closely with other internal teams and external carriers/partners to ensure products and services are developed, maintained and implemented for the benefit the customer, stakeholders and shareholders.
  • Collaborate with Product, PB and Wealth and other business functions & business channels internally and externally.
  • Commercial understanding to initiate additional activities to grow revenue and address performance issues across the multiple channels.
  • Source business information to understand current and leverage future business performance.
  • Monitor, and ensure team delivery of results with FTE and cost budgets.
  • To champion the need to identify and deliver worthwhile improvements to all 
  • Apply knowledge and experience to demonstrate timely, effective business development promotion to the required standard to achieve financial goals.
  • Excellent understanding of the distribution channels, market, competitors and customers.
  • Understanding and supporting the need for change.
  • Sound and effective research to support and leverage business strategy.
  • Proactively look for and deliver improvements.

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $250,000.00 and $300,000.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Experience of distributing Insurance products through multiple channels 
  • Market knowledge of life and general insurance market. 
  • Proven relationship building skills. 
  • Ability to influence senior internal stakeholders to drive the Insurance distribution strategy. 
  • Extensive Insurance Industry Experience
  • Required licenses (all 50 states): Property & Casualty, Life and Health, Excess & Surplus Lines
  • FINRA licenses also desired (7, 66 or 63 & 65 in lieu of 66)
