HSBC Malta’s Technology function is responsible for enabling businesses and functions manage their information, as well as ensuring risk and controls are assessed and implemented appropriately, objectively, and independently through professional and specialized subject matter experts. In the role of Head of Technology, you will be primarily accountable for management and oversite of all Technology services delivered to the local market.

In this role you will:
• Foster business relationships, ensuring that Technology acts as a partner and enabler to the local business strategy,
• Oversight of execution and applicability of global and regional Technology strategy, within country policy, budget and regulatory constraints,
• Oversee and appropriately manage technology risks, including Resilience and Cyber risk.
• Oversight of all change portfolio, and Technology services within the country.
• Responsible for developing Country Technology roadmap covering all relevant areas in the effective delivery of key business objectives and outstanding customer service.
• Lead, develop and motivate the technology team/s in a high-performance culture.
• Have an external outlook and insights about innovative trends in technology and how this can be applied to solve challenges and improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the bank, and customer and colleague experience.
• Steer simplification and automation within the technology remits.
You should apply if you have:
• Demonstrable experience within the technology sector, with a deep understanding of IT systems/networks, best practices and principles including exposure to cloud, mobile applications, and web technologies.
• Established leadership skills, enabling you to support and inspire a team of technology professionals across various disciplines.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical matters in a clear and compelling way.
• Managing relationships and stakeholders at various levels, establishing trust and collaboration to drive successful outcomes.
• Sound understanding of business finance and experience of effective management of budgets and expenditure.
• Degree level in information technology or related discipline.
