In this role you will:

  • Retain responsibility of the Bank’s wholesale credit policy and oversight of the wholesale portfolio supporting the Chief Risk Officer (“CRO”)
  • Evaluate, analyse and approve wholesale credit and market risk transactions within the bank’s risk appetite. 
  • Manage a team of professionals including people and performance oversight 
  • Maintain oversight of portfolio analysis, stress testing and International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) 9 assessment 
  • Be responsible for the delivery of end results and contributing to planning, finances and budget of the wholesale credit risk department 
  • Reassess operational risks, taking account of the changing economic, legal and regulatory environment 
  • Adhere to the operating guidelines, ensuring all actions are compliant with the Lending Code and HSBC’s Banking Terms and Conditions 
  • Implement HSBC’s compliance policy, working in concert with the Bank’s Compliance department 

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria: 

  • University degree, ideally within accounting or credit analysis along with a minimum of 5 years’ credit risk management, financial analysis and corporate/commercial banking experience 
  • A good understanding of credit principles and an overall knowledge and understanding of financial information 
  • Strong client relationship management skills 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with advanced Microsoft Office knowledge, particularly Excel and database management 
  • The ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
