In this role you will:
- Manage the financial reporting team producing entity level financial reporting, whilst ensuring controls are applied across all operational accounting processes.
- Manage each period end close and balance sheet account substantiation.
- Handle all accounting issues and judgements, implementing solutions for new products and accounting standard requirements.
- Oversee local and global regulatory and tax reporting, ensuring timely and quality submissions.
- Implement global processes in local operational accounting activities.
- Work with a team across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Recognised professional accountancy qualification (e.g., CA, ACCA, CPA etc.)
- Understanding and experience of insurance financial reporting under International Financial Reporting Standards
- Experience of Bermuda insurance regulatory reporting across multiple license categories
- Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with senior management.
- Sound awareness of Information Technology and data, with the ability to implement efficient processes.
- Ability to lead a team of qualified professionals in a deadline driven environment.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, organisational and time management skills.
