We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of LEAD CONSULTANT SPECIALIST.
Business: Group Data Technology
Principal responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management:
- Directly manage a team of approximately ten engineers, fostering a collaborative and efficient team culture.
- Lead and direct DevOps transformation in the team to faster and time to market in the Stitt/Lydia(GenAI) platform.
- Ensure smooth collaboration within the team and promote a culture of open communication and an engineering culture.
- Monitor team dynamics, conduct performance review assessments and provide constructive feedback.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with global business and IT stakeholders from GBGFs to understand their requirements, deal with concerns and communicate project updates.
- Act as a liaison between the engineering team and stakeholders, ensuring that the team aligns its practices and objectives with the organization's overall goals.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
Technical Strategy and Decision-Making:
- Make strategic technical decisions related to the products, keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends.
- Make decisions about the technical direction of the project and the strategic advantage these choices can bring.
- Resolve any higher-level project issues that arise, ensuring that the team works in line with the strategy and within the set timeline.
- Automate whereever we can to improve time to market and reduce risk.
Project Delivery and Execution:
- Oversee the successful delivery of AI-related projects, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring project progress.
- Ensure that project requirements are clearly understood and translated into technical design.
- Ensure that project deadlines are met and that the output aligns with the business requirements.
Performance Measurement and Continuous Improvement:
- Regularly evaluate and measure team performance, investing time in mentorship and growth of individual team members.
- Continuously strive for technical excellence and improve processes and practices within the team and in relation to the wider organization.
- Initiate and promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
- Upskill the teams to be full stack.
- Minimum of 10 years IT working experience
- Strong awareness of global strategic direction and vision
- Strong awareness and understanding of other initiatives in domain to leverage re-use and/or best practice
- Strong domain expertise e.g. Commercial banking, Data, Risk, Finance, etc.
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to analyse and design business processes
- Able to prioritise user stories according to business expectations and interest
- Strong knowledge of Change Management and / or Scaled Agile Framework
- Familiar with JIRA and Confluence to log user stories and manage product backlog
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, complemented by an ability to collaborate with business, architecture and development teamsCandidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
