We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Officer, Main Treasury.
Principal Responsibilities
- Monitors the performance of the section and the note machines, and motivates the team for continuous improvement in productivity and work efficiency
- Supervises the Note Processing team to ensure the proper working procedures are strictly adhered to at all time
- Protects the interests of the Bank by ensuring all high denomination notes are processed at top priority and all notes processed are counter-checked for packing accuracy under dual control
- Ensures the proper processing of RMB notes and mixed denomination notes from CDMs of branches/SSTs and CaPC
- Monitors closely the note quality and the on-line destruction of unfit notes, and checks on regular basis the machine rejected notes to ensure any misprinted notes are identified and duly reported to superiors
- Monitors closely cash discrepancies and undertakes investigation on exceptional incidents for management action
- Supervises the waste disposal, and arranges old HSBC notes for management checking and destruction
- Performs daily balancing and reports the note issued / unissued figures to HKMA, Treasury Services; and arranges US dollar backing for notes issued
- Projects the daily note requirements of Note Pay-out and Note Processing, and estimates the net increase/decrease note issue of the next business day
- Prepares regular reports on banknote issuance and processing to management and HKMA
- Ensures sufficient stock of stationery and machine consumables to maintain smooth operation of the section
- 5-7 years of experience in note / cash handling preferred
- Good supervisory skill to manage a large team of staff
