We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Performance and Reward Consultant.

Principal responsibilities

  • Provide P&R advice and support in support of the delivery of the HSBC China entities Strategic Business Objective/Country Strategic Plan.

  • Project manage P&R initiatives to support HSBC China entities priorities.

  • Lead the implementation of P&R initiatives supporting HSBC China entities. Examples include the creation of global objectives, managing recognition programmes, undertaking Job evaluation and reviews of Material Risk Takers.

  • Lead coordination of the annual pay review for HSBC China entities, which would typically involve supporting the variable pay pool allocation (e.g. Guideline Variable Pay modelling, determining the Junior Resource Pool grid), providing support materials for business engagement, supporting performance calibration, country Incentivizing Compliance reviews and providing quality assurance of pay review outcomes. Guidance should balance group P&R requirements with HSBC China entities requirements.

  • Assess the effectiveness of policies and processes and pro-actively recommend new and innovative approaches and solutions.

  • Lead on market benchmarking activities across the HSBC China entities and provide expertise to review and interpret the results and to summarize key market trends for stakeholders in P&R, HR and the business.

  • Produce documentation to support the understanding, interpretation or implementation of P&R activities within the business, including specialist activities as necessary.

  • Provide expert guidance on requests for information on P&R policies, processes and procedures. This may include responses to audit findings or input into broader business initiatives which overlap with P&R areas of responsibility.

  • Provide oversight of reward analytics outputs to ensure consistent, quality and relevant deliverables are provided to senior audiences.

  • Maintain specialist knowledge by keeping abreast of published materials, competitor practice, external market developments and trends and legislative and regulatory developments.

Requirements
  • Stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to engage a diverse stakeholder group, including senior populations.

  • Strong knowledge of financial services performance and reward practices in global organizations.

  • Strong business acumen with an ability to link business strategy to people practices; ability to apply critical analysis and judgment when reviewing activities.

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and influence counterparts in global, regional and country teams.

  • Proven track record of successful implementation of performance and reward initiatives.

  • Knowledge of local legal and regulatory environment.

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
