Global Payments Solutions (GPS)


Global Payments Solutions (GPS) offers a comprehensive range of cash management services from account and deposit management, payments and remittance, collection and receivables services, liquidity management and digital channel solutions to our corporate and commercial banking customers. We provide tailored solutions to our corporate customers as well as industries sector specific solution to our commercial banking customers. We are responsible to drive liabilities growth for the Commercial Banking segments through the provision of leading cash management solutions to them. We are also steering the transaction banking FX growth for the bank. We focus on our customers’ needs in Greater China and aim to be the chosen one-stop cash management partner of choice for our customers across mainland China and Hong Kong.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our innovative and dynamic team at Global Payments Solutions (GPS) as a Project Manager, Client Integration, within our Client Connectivity team.

The role of a Project Manager, Client Integration, is critical to ensure the technical aspects of a client’s project align with their business objectives, and that the resulting solutions are robust, scalable, and efficient. The successful candidate will manage several top tier clients.

Role summary

  • Lead and manage multiple complex projects to on-board clients to HSBC Digital Channels (HSBCnet, Treasury API, H2H and SwiftNet).

  • Proactively identify and highlight technical blockers that may affect a successful implementation to maintain a best-in-class customer experience.

  • Keep on top of industry trends, emerging technologies, and changes in payment regulations to support your technical testing knowledge and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of both the wider financial and technical environment of the client’s business.

  • Employ logical problem-solving skills to both the client’s and Bank’s satisfaction.

  • Manage the complex implementation project lifecycle to consult on risks, issues, dependencies, project planning and testing approach including test case definition

  • Drive the strategic priorities of the GPS business, promoting a positive culture by maintaining a balanced professional approach to work and life, even when under pressure.


Principal responsibilities:

  • Contribute to technical client workshops to understand and support their business automation goals.

  • Support pre-mandate and RFI/RFP requests, providing technical expertise to develop ap-propriate solutions and proposals.

  • Cultivate and nurture strong, trusted relationships with clients and third parties through open and proactive communication, demonstrating an understanding their business needs and ensuring satisfaction with the onboarding process.

  • Communicate with stakeholders in GPS, CMB, GSC, group level as appropriated; ensure effective internal and external communication with sharing of project status, risks, and issues. Serve as liaison between Client Service and Sales, Coverage, Product, IT and Operation.

  • Manage a varied portfolio of complex, global integration projects, including piloting new products/services offered by GPS.

  • Drive project timelines to achieve optimal time to revenue, focusing on high revenue/strategic clients.

  • Represent Hang Seng at Industry Events, help position Hang Seng as a top provider of digital and technical leadership in the community for treasury management services.

  • Simplify and challenge existing processes. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance our Net Promoter Score.

  • Feedback to the GPS Product and Client Connectivity teams on the competitive market landscape and client specific requirements, to help drive product enhancements and developments as appropriate.

  • Work in close partnership with Commercial Banking Coverage and the wider Global Payments Solutions (GPS) teams to identify and develop business opportunities.

  • Adopt a need based technical advisory approach to understand customer requirements and share appropriate cash management solutions that meet those requirements

Requirements
  • A strong understanding of Payment Types both for domestic and cross-border, and their underlying systems and processes

  • A strong understanding of the various industry standard formats (including ISO20022), testing processes and methodologies.

  • A strong understanding of the key industry changes, with specific reference to Swift MT to MX (ISO) migration and the requirements and impact to our client base (Corporate & FIG).

  • Experience of successful project management, utilizing relevant tools and techniques to ensure consistent delivery and appropriate prioritization.

  • Strong experience of working in customer facing roles, tailoring solutions to various client sectors and delivering excellent customer service.

  • A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness and workflow improvement in sustainable ways.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, both verbal and written, with experience of adapting style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered to both customers and internal stakeholders. Fluency in written and verbal English. Cantonese and/or Mandarin speaking will be a plus.

  • A track record of delivering large, complex digital transformation and/or ERP/TMS integration for large domestic and/or Chinese customers would be an advantage

  • Highly motivated & achievement driven with an ability to formulate & articulate business growth strategies.

  • Professional qualifications such as Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) and / or Certified Banker (CB) under Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) would be an advantage
