HSBC Global Trade Solutions (GTS) serves as a core service provider for Commercial (CMB) and Global Banking (GBM) customers.

This role is responsible for growing Global Trade Solutions (GTS)'s regional Profit & Loss (P&L) and for driving strategy to grow the business whilst promoting clear governance and controls. The role is responsible for delivering, commercialising and fulfilling propositions and solutions to our LATAM Wholesale Banking customers. The role holder will sit on the LATAM Regional Executve Committee and represent GTS at regional forums. The role holder will directly interact with external regulators and industry bodies to discharge HSBC’s responsibilities and drive in shaping the industry’s response to market changing events.

• Lead and deliver strategic plans to grow the GTS franchise across Mexico,  Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Chile

• Achieve Regional Global Trade Solutions (GTS) Profit & Loss (P&L) and return targets

• Provide leadership, direction and delivery of the key strategic initiatives and programmes that will influence delivery of solutions to our customers

• Drive a customer focussed environment built on globally consistent and market leading propositions, standardised operations and improved customer experience

•  Ensure appropriate governance and controls in the region to operate the business within acceptable risk parameters

• Ensure alignment across the region and the Americas Head of GTS

Work collaboratively across the Americas region to promote both outbound and intra-americas trade and growth.

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with HSBC Management Leadership, Strategy, Wholesake Coverage, DBS, Risk and other control functions both centrally and across geographies

• Act as a Global Trde Solutions (GTS) champion to ensure that key objectives are prioritised appropriately across wholesale.

The jobholder will adhere to, and be able to demonstrate adherence to, internal controls and will implement the Group compliance policy by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures.

The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.

Certifications, Qualifications & Experience
 
• Broad commercial and relationship management experience including an in-depth knowledge of the GTS business on a global basis: Brasil, Argentina and Mexico product knowledge.
• Highly developed management skills, with experience in team building and managing a wide range of projects.
• Ability to lead and motivate other managers and staff, employing appropriate management styles.
• Highly developed communication and influencing skills set.
• Experience of managing resources to achieve objectives using appropriate communication delegation and planning skills.
• Ability to use strong judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems whilst maintaining budgets, time scales and quality of output.
• A sound knowledge of all aspects of the GTS business.
• An ability to appreciate the application of technology in relation to operations, transformation and change management.
• English and Spanish Proficiency
