Global Private Banking (GPB)
HSBC Global Private Banking provides personal relationship management including integrated banking, investment and wealth advisory services to high net worth clients and their families around the world. In this role, you will:

Customers / Stakeholders

   Establish new private banking relationships and manage existing relationships in order to grow Assets Under Management and Revenue

   Monitor clients’ portfolios on a regular basis to identify additional business opportunities and revenue growth potential

Leadership & Teamwork

   Work closely with other HSBC departments, including Wealth and Personal Banking, Commercial Banking and Global Banking and Markets, to identify cross-selling opportunities and bring all of HSBC’s relevant products and services to our clients

   Leverage HSBC’s channels, network and brand to pursue business development activities with a focus on International Private Wealth clients

Operational Effectiveness & Control

   Ensure strict compliance with HSBC’s internal control standards, including areas of risk, regulatory compliance and financial crime compliance

   Timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators

   Minimize operational losses

Major Challenges

   Operating in an ever changing and stringent regulatory environment

   Growing business in a highly competitive market place

   Operating in a tough KYC processing environment

Role Context

The role operates in rapidly growing wealth management market, with more needs from high-net-worth individuals for private banking services. Banking is also a highly regulated industry. Under that environment, operating conditions of the role:

   Keeps aware of the Operational Risk associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations

Observation of Internal Controls

   Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

   Understands and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.


 

Requirements

 To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

 

  • At least 10 years of relationship management experience, ideally in private banking, commercial banking or investment banking sectors
  • Proven track record in asset gathering, asset growth and revenue generation
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong focus on client servicing
  • Excellent understanding of financial markets and wealth management products
  • Attention to detail and the ability to think creatively to solve problems
