Hang Seng Data and Analytics Office

The Data and Analytics Office of Hang Seng is an important function, whereby it drives the data strategy to ensure 

  • Data are managed and controlled
  • Data becomes a key asset to the bank
  • The bank moves to a data driven organization
  • Regulatory demands on data are satisfied

The Data and Analytics Office of Hang Seng develops and executes Data and Record governance to improve the Bank’s data environment and maximising the value of data assets. The data analytics team is a transversal function that supports the bank's data analytics including data science, machine learning, and AI. Data Analytics would be the bridge between technology and business. Hang Seng’s strategy in building a data driven culture would be via heavy reliance on data analytics to enable key business decisions.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Senior Manager, Data Quality.

Principal responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Head of Data & Analytics of HASE and support DAO on the execution of Group Data Management framework.
  • Drive the move towards the long-term goal of strategic and tactical information initiatives based on businesses / functions vision covering Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Protection and Data Infrastructure.
  • Ensure that business owners are identified to be accountable for data quality, reference data standards, metadata management, data governance mechanisms exist to highlight potential data problem areas
  • Prompt escalation of any identified data quality issues. Engage business and functions as required to resolve any data issues identified
  • Identifying and disseminating best practices
  • Work with a variety of information, data management and business professionals at various levels of expertise in establishing collaboration, content management, data consolidation, information delivery and data re-use strategies
Requirements
  • University degree in a related discipline or other relevant qualifications
  • 8+ years’ professional experience, preferably with knowledge in banking businesses, operations and/ or data management
  • Have good understanding of data management principles and operational control framework
  • Attention to detail combined with a strong delivery focus and the ability to meet aggressive timeframes with quality results
  • Awareness on data management trends within the banking industry: Data Science & Analytics, regulations on data management i.e. BCBS, Data privacy & Data protection
  • Strong governance skills to facilitate steering committees and good stakeholders management experience
  • Good in data project management, stakeholder management, agile ways of working.
  • Proven track record interpreting and promoting data driven cultures in a complex organizational environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to build connections, promote ideas and work collaboratively across all levels of seniority and across boundaries
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese; Fluency in Putonghua
  • Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
