We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Software Engineer.
In this role, you will:
· Analyse large and complex datasets from multiple sources to deliver actionable insights for banking products and operations.
· Write robust Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) pipeline.
· Work on real-time call data using Kafka.
· Collaborate with data engineering and product teams to define data requirements and support analytics initiatives.
· Translate business questions into technical data requirements and present insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
· Ensure data accuracy, consistency and governance across all analytical outputs.
· Create data quality rules for datasets and implement data governance metrics for datasets.
· Programming: Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy or other analytical libraries)
· Database: Proficient in working with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, dynamoDB or equivalent.
· Data Formats: Ability to work with structured, semi-structured or unstructured data formats (JSON, XML etc).
· Data Modelling: Solid understanding of data modelling, database design and performance tuning in NoSQL environments.
· Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
· Version Control: Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
· Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to debug and analyse data.
· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
· Experience with Python with Kafka to consume/produce real-time data.
· Experience with MongoDB (CRUD operations, indexes, time-series collections etc).
· Experience in AWS / Cloud Technologies
· Experience with banking systems
· Familiarity with AGILE and Scaled AGILE methodologies
