We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Vice President, Non-Financial Risk.
Principal Responsibilities
In this role you will
- Be responsible for executing the Non Financial Risk (NFR) control agenda for the Singapore site. Core activities include supporting incident events, control assessment, lessons learnt and themed analysis. Monitor the implementation of management action plans to ensure timely remediation and enhancements are incorporated in the control environment. Supporting the local & regional governance and risk/ control forums, proactive risk management to improve Market and Security Services (MSS) Operations control environment with initiatives driven out Regionally and Locally. Providing a 1st Line of Défense risk advice, challenge and operational support to the business over the management of MSS Operations risk and control agenda
- Co-lead with his/her peer for the Singapore region and overseeing ASEAN as a cluster in delivering exceptional overall governance, mobilization and management of a robust and effective control framework across a locationally diverse Operations team. Working within the governance framework the role holder must support their business line to provide clear sight of emerging risks and incident trends across their function, resulting in proactive and timely responses. Partnering closely with their business line and their peers, they will drive the delivery of the MSS Operations strategy for risk reduction
- Work closely with MSS Operations Management and colleagues in MSS Ops NFR teams to maintain a forward looking function and will help support their business line across various risk governance forums
- Need to be deeply connected with the teams, understanding the challenges across the Operations function and will strongly lead improvements to the global process environment in an ambitious and agile manner, ensuring progression to a more standard, sustainable and optimized way of delivering operational processes. They will strengthen controls and HSBC’s ability to achieve cost efficiencies in line with market, client demand and service expectations. In particular, the role holder will lead the controls review for key strategic change programme within their remit, ensuring that optimum control design is achieved and transformation risk is minimised
- Proactively engage with the 2LoD and 3LoD teams, where appropriate, acting as the key interface to MSS Operations, and supporting Operations management in setting strategy and direction for remediation of high risk findings to ensure similar risk issues are proactively mitigated across MSS Operations.
Have ability to influence senior stakeholders and peers alike. Challenge processes and polices within their business line is critical for this role, along with solid leadership skills to support and enhance the speak up culture. The individual will be able to proactively drive forward strategic outcomes, with minimal oversight
To be successful you will need
- Good understanding and working knowledge of either Markets or Security Services operations and proven experience of positive, challenging interactions with Senior Management
- Strong team leadership skills, particularly with regards to coaching and developing team member and excellent stakeholder’s management and leadership skill
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex issues succinctly and clearly
- Proven ability in problem solving and prioritization skills. Able to multitask under pressure with a keen eye for detail and Excellent team player with a self-motivated attitude and ability to think/act independently
- Delivery and execution focused. The role requires a proactive and articulate individual, comfortable with dealing with senior management and able to deliver key messages and tailor output to the audience
