The opportunity: Trade Finance Intern

This a 6-month internship, full time role

What you will do: 

Day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Middle Office for trade finance especially in the areas of bank guarantees and letters of credit
You will: 
• Coordinate between clients, front & back offices and other internal/ external units for transaction fulfilment 
• Understand clients’ transactional routines and build relationships
• Monitor client experience / feedback and service quality: act as escalation point between clients and back office and ensure client satisfaction to render consistently excellent and market leading service
• Work with back offices across countries and other banks to deliver globally connected service experience
• Work in partnership with other teams to deliver the services and products of the bank in a fair and transparent manner, this includes participating in internal and external client calls and meetings
• Ensure that the business meets its internal and external regulatory requirements


Relevant knowledge and skills:

• Student must be enrolled in a study program or educational institution for the duration of the internship
• Strong command of the English language (Dutch is an added benefit)
• Proactive attitude, eager to take on responsibilities and able work well in an international team
• Experience with financial modeling and financial analysis
• Strong writing and research skills
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Stress resilient and able to shift quickly between different responsibilities
• MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint proficiency
• Prior internship or work experience in financial services is a plus

Practical Details:

• Paid internship
• Starting date: January - February 2026
• Available on a full time basis (40 hours p/w)
• Location: Amsterdam (a laptop will be provided in order to be able to sporadically work from home)
