We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Vice President Governance CCM and CMA
Principal responsibilities
- Provide risk advisory encompassing proactive risk management,issue resolution and governance alignment across key processes. Facilitate read across of material risks/issues, CMA reviews, Trigger and Internal event management with strong oversight on risks and controls, ensuring risk governance, control assurance, and effective escalation management.Drive efficiency and simplification initiatives across the team leveraging use of automation tools and emerging technology
- Interpret non-financial risk data and trends to identify thematic risks, associated issues for the business and their mitigation progress.Identify trends to anticipate emerging risks that the business should act on.
- Provide technical leadership and support excellence by searching out best practice, sharing knowledge and enhancing outputs.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging colleagues to identify and implement best practices in risk management.
- Embed a strong risk culture by ensuring consistent application of NFR standards and proactive engagement across leadership layers.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across Capital Markets & Advisory and Credit and Capital Management, as well as wider CCO teams,and Product risk teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration on risk management issues.
- Lead,develop and communicate a clear vision for the team and ensure that it is aligned to the overall HSBC vision, values and goals, and inspires and engages people to create an inclusive, high performing culture. Drive a proactive risk management framework through enhanced reporting and analytics.
- Maintain and develop knowledge of staff via delivery and oversight and coaching – tailored to the differing products/markets/services within the team.
- Maintain awareness of the NFR Framework, work across the 3 Lines of Defense risk management model to ensure that risks are managed to within risk appetite and that where issues and incidents to occur their impact is minimized and managed appropriately through the timely update of our books and records, ensuring the identification, assessment, and mitigation in accordance with the Group Operations FIM.
- Experience working within CM&A, CCM or other CIB businesses / Knowledge in Global Banking and Credit products.
- Knowledge and understanding of HSBC Risk Management and NFR (Non-Financial Risk) framework. Expert level risk management knowledge and experience of working in a senior capacity involving the management of risk.
- Ability to summarise large amounts of complex data into clear and comprehensive reports that can be readily understood by a senior audience.
- Ability to work with ambiguity and able to navigate through and deliver in changing strategic and commercial contexts.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, filter information and prioritize multiple demands.
- Strong understanding of technology, regulatory landscape and risk/control disciplines.
- Experience in leading and managing teams aligned with multiple business partners, markets, products.
- Skills such as data driven automation via advanced excel, python, power BI, artificial intelligence etc. would be an added advantage
