This role entails working on all areas within an actuarial function including experience analysis, IFRS17 financial reporting, Solvency II Regulatory reporting, modelling, scenarios and sensitivity assessments, With-Profits business and pricing & profitability assessments.


In this role you will:

• Support the lead on relevant aspects of the engagement with the key stakeholders of the insurance function on issues which may be related to experience analysis, modelling, IFRS reporting, Solvency II reporting, pricing, model governance, pricing & profitability assessment, and ad-hoc project work
• Perform quality assurance of wider team’s deliverables including junior member’s deliverables
• Manage stakeholders and other senior team members within HSBC who require actuarial and analytical support – acting as deputy when required within organizational limits of authority and scope of activity
• Maintain standards/requirements for actuarial work undertaken by the team
• Ensure work undertaken meets best practice and recognized actuarial standards (internal manuals and external as set by professional bodies)
• Ensure compliance with applicable quality control

You should apply if you have: 

• Actuary qualification or nearly qualified 
• The ability to apply knowledge of financial services products to a working environment
• Knowledge and experience of Solvency II and IFRS17 standards.
• Good understanding of life insurance products including With Profits
• The ability to communicate information in a confident and structure manner to all levels of management
• The ability to influence business managers, to establish and maintain co-operation
• Good organisational and planning skills
• The ability to operate within cross functional teams
