We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Business Analyst, ETF Product Delivery.

Principal Responsibilities

ETFs are a strategic and growing product for HSBC globally.  The ETF Product Delivery team provide solutions to our operations teams, and clients, to support of ETF business. The Business Analyst (“BA”) role involves taking responsibility for elements of product delivery within the Product Delivery team with a focus on the APAC region, and also working on European initiatives where required.  

In this role you will

  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Clearly define & document in detail requirements for internal or client requested change working with ETF Product, IT, vendors and Operations teams ensuring that requirements are understood, reviewed and signed off.  Develop requirements specifications according to standard
  • Manage products backlog, monitor progress and maintain track records for projects by tools include but not limited Jira, Teams and Confluence
  • Flexible to work on technical solutions, system configuration, for delivery into the Business or with the client, and working on the ‘go live’ of the deliverable
  • Prepare test scripts and scenarios against the documented requirements, and the training, management and support in the execution of UAT and regression testing
  • Support the roll out of HSBCs ETF platform solutions across APAC, completing gap analysis for clients/regions as required and defining system enhancements as required
  • Identify risks and streamline existing End to End processes for our ETF Service Model, partnering with senior stakeholders in Operations and Product on the identification of opportunities which align to the Product roadmap to deliver both operational efficiencies and improve the client experience
  • Maintain an up-to-date Action log and provide up to date project status reports to working level
Requirements

To be successful you will need

  • Business analyst experience in securities service industry with the ability to act on initiative and to drive work independently in a fast pace and deadline driven environment. Ability to work with minimal supervision but invoking escalation as appropriate
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight timeline and high commitment
  • Flexibility operating in project mode and daily operations support mode depending on the stage of the project and will require flexibility in operating in either mode
  • A proven track record in the successful delivery of fast-paced change initiatives is essential for any successful candidate along with experience in working within the securities services business -– Transfer Agency, Middle-Office, Investment Operations, Custody and Fund Administration business functions and how these work together
  • Previous ETF experience is preferred; having an understanding of the ETF order lifecycle from trading to settlement and ETF service model within the broader Securities Services business would be advantageous
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills; must be capable of producing clear, unambiguous status reports, writing detailed reports, minutes and actions, making presentations to internal and external audiences
  • Sound judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems
