We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Business Strategy Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

In this role you will

  • Support the CEO & Strategy office in the development of medium to long term strategic vision, including the execution of strategic Life and Health initiatives in line with the overarching Group and International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB) business strategy
  • Feasibility study on strategic initiatives, including Artificial Intelligence / health tech / channel expansion / proposition development etc through partnerships or M&A opportunities.  Support preparation of business cases, market analysis and multi-faceted evaluations on both financial and non-financial aspects
  • Deliver strategic agenda by closely partnering with key business stakeholders, including distribution, marketing, products, operations, health and other control functions
  • Support the oversight of Financial Resources Plan (FRP) process, tracking of CEO scorecard and Key Performance Indicators for the HK & Macau Insurance businesses
  • Prepare presentations and regular updates for Board, EXCO and various Insurance / IWPB Committees or Forums in relation to the strategic agenda and business performances
  • Elevate business and operating performance by identifying barriers to success and recommending management actions
  • Effective communication with stakeholders within HSBC Group as well as external trade organizations, regulators, and business partners etc
Requirements

To be successful you will need

  • Educated to graduate degree level and ideally with additional applicable qualifications in relevant field (e.g. Finance, AI & tech)
  • Experiences working in global financial / insurance institutions, and preferably technical knowledge in insurance, including accounting, actuarial and product concepts
  • Good knowledge and awareness on external environments including market trends, technology and regulatory developments etc
  • Competency in AI, programming, data science would be a plus
  • Proven ability to formulate problem statements, devise practical solutions and implement the changes through effective collaborations with key stakeholders and usage of technology
  • Effective communication skills, and strong relationship building & stakeholder management capabilities
  • Energetic and enthusiastic to influence, engage and drive in a positive manner.  Proficiency in English and Chinese
  • Committed to long term career and professional development in the insurance industry
