We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist.

In this role, you will:
•    Identify opportunities and deliver consistent and interconnected risk and control environment reporting and governance
•    Protect the bank via proactive regulatory risk reduction actions. Drive consistent regulatory reporting across regions, businesses, and global functions.  
•    Collaborate closely with global functions, businesses, and regional stakeholders to integrate risk and control insights into strategic technology planning and decision-making processes.
•    Assist CTO R&C Control teams to enhance technology control frameworks, ensuring they are inclusive and adaptable aligned with industry regulations and standards.
•    Provide advice, guidance, and assessment of application of policies, control standards, and procedures.
•    Advocate the desired behavioural changes across the CTO Enablement community required to mature the understanding and management of technology risk controls.
•    Have a good understanding of Operational Risk, particularly the key role played by Technology.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements: 
Impact on the Business/Function
•    Support the regional enablement teams to drive the management and reporting of regulatory compliance requirements for CTO owned and consumed controls 
•    Driving improvements to information metrics and processes to strengthen risk management and internal control 
•    Engaging relevant programmes and initiatives to drive consistency, standardisation and prioritised engagements with the CTO R&C and regional enablement teams.
•    Share risk management and controls operations in line with Operational Risk Management Framework

Governance
•    Contributing to risk governance activities driving standardisation and connected control insights ensuring all stakeholders can have visibility of key risks, controls, and remediation activity.
•    Supporting CTO to design and deploy key controls, key control indicators, evidence requirements and tools to drive control effectiveness.  
•    Monitoring MI and reports to identify thematic trends ensure Technology remains within its risk appetite

Customers / Stakeholders
•    Stakeholder management is multi-faceted across geographies, Businesses and Functions. 
•    Presenting and reporting complex risk and control information in ways that are meaningful for different stakeholders  
•    Applying professional understanding, expertise, and judgement to oversee the health of the end-to-end control environment 
•    Monitoring and analysing the performance of the control environment to drive effective design and operation of controls

•    Role model a positive internal risk and control culture across CTO teams and shape the climate, tone and environment in which people work.
•    Cultivate an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand

Knowledge & Experience
•    Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
•    Knowledge and experience of technology risk management, with a knowledge of control frameworks 
•    Good understanding of Cybersecurity Controls such as Vulnerability Management, Identity & Access Management is a key requirement. 
•    Knowledge and experience of enterprise risk management software and tools
•    Strong communication skills to be able influence and challenge stakeholders 
•    Flexible and adaptable being able to handle and prioritise competing demands in a fast-paced environment 
•    Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate technology landscapes.
•    A commitment to continuous learning and staying at the forefront of technology concepts and practices.
