We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Data Analytics Manager.

The Data and Analytics Professionals at GM have responsibility for executing our HSBC Group Data Strategy. They have responsibility to support data assests in GM are consumed, managed and governed in accordance with prevailing internal and external rules. Additionally, this job support and implement the inititaivities to embed and maintain and culture across all geograhies under remit, where good data management practices and good data analytics tooling adoption prevail and fully aligned with Hang Seng data goverance policies. The responsibilties are threefold:

1.     Recognising data as an asset to HSBC by managing Data Risk and ensuring we are compliant with our Data Standards and policies:

2.     Using analytics and data science to unlock the value of our data; and

3.     Implementing and maintaining our Data Technologies

Data and Analytics Professional are geographically dispersed and aligned to the Global Buisnesses / Global Functions or regions. Members of the Analytics & Data Science chapter have a broad understanding of different analytics techniques (e.g. NLP, Optimisation, Classification, regression) and data types (structured, unstructured, semi-structured) and their utilisation; these individuals should have strong quantitative background e.g. Mathematics, Statistics and Probability and be able to perform complex queries using Data Science tools e.g. SQL, Python, Spark, R

Principal responsibilities

·       Communicate and implement data policy and standards.

Be responsible for the delivery of data initiatives (across the project lifecycle) to ensure alignment and conformance to data strategy, policies and standards.

·       Support the implementation of data quality and governance principles.

·       Input to data quality standards, metrics design and implementation.

·       Work with the country teams to identify business data issues and leverage the Data Management Framework to resolve these issues.

·       Understand business process and requirement to perform tactical and strategic data analysis. Gather detailed data requirements from stakeholders to deliver analytics use cases.

·       Leverage current and emerging data and analytical techniques to address business challenges in an actionable way

·       Participate in system launch/ enhancement and provide input.

The key tasks for this category will include some or all of the following:

  • Use data analytics to drive business activities in alignment with the Bank’s data strategy
  • Develop, manage and maintain data policies and methodologies to ensure data integrity
  • Participate in data management and data governance activities, ensuring this data practices comply with regulations of all geographies under remit.
  • Manage Data analytics with agreed delivery plan with businesses
  • Drive data analytics journey including obtaining the data, cleansing, understanding the data definition and usage, and building data model to support business analysis and insights
  • Communicate and visualize the result of the analytics
  • Advise on change activities which involve data sources, affect data processes or impact data service provision
  • Participate in new Data Platform projects / tools to enhance existing business efficiency. 
Requirements

      ·       University degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, information system or other relevant qualifications

·       Minimum of 5 years’ banking / Data field experience, preferably with good knowledge of data or information management

·       Experience in data processing using SQL, SAS, Python & R

·       Visualisation tool Tableau, Quick BI, Qlik or Spotfire experience is a plus

·       Project Management skills and knowledge of Banking systems is an advantage

·       Familiar with HSBC GM system architecture or system usage will be an big advantage

·       Attentiveness to details and self motivated

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·       Highly adaptable to changes and challenges

·       Proficiency in both English and Chinese, fluency in Putonghua an advantage

·       Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes.
