Role Purpose
The Data and Business Analytics Management function for International Wealth & Premier Banking (IWPB) Mexico is a key role supporting the successful development and industrial implementation of the Financial-Analytic discipline and Decision Science capabilities across IWPB businesses. The role holder is accountable for identifying business oportunities thru data analyses, customer insights and statustical modeling, that help WPB make data driven business decisions and at the same time ensuring MX IWPB and Global Intelligence Hub agenda.
Role Dimensions
The role-holder is directly responsible to manage data-science methodologies affecting product campaign leads and value offers for 5.4 million WPB customers in HSBC Mexico.
- Responsible of delivering insights and statistical modeling to help generate incremental revenue targets from centrally generated customer analytics and financial decisions ($100M+USD p.a)
- Leads a team of 4-6 Data Scientists and Business analysts and experts that work with complex datasets to evaluate, recommend and support the implementation of strategies across business lines: Propositions, Product Category, Distribution, Digital, Remediation & Regulatory
- Creates WPB customer data and segmentation inputs to execute all WPB strategies and campaigns: 250 monthly; 3.2M monthly cross sell offers impacting loans, cards, investments and insurance businesses
- Designs testing methodologies to improve product performance though risk-reward challenges with an increase revenue target of 10%
- manipulates Customer Analytic-Data Platform: SQL, SAS, R, Python, among others.
- Develops Campaign performance tracking and Testing methodology applications though champion-challenger techniques and execution across WPB MX
- Creates and co-develops Customer Data Sources.
Knowledge & Experience
- Bachelor in Actuarial Studies, Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related areas.
- Master in Finance, Business, or related areas desired but not mandatory
- 4-6 years of experience in the financial industry: Retail Bank, Consumer Bank.
- Deep exposure and experience with consumer bank product financial structures
- Extensive experience with customer database management initiatives
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in database management, innovative data infrastructure, strategy development and campaign tracking and analytics across multiple financial product categories and customer segments.
- Strategic mindset and financial acumen.
- Understanding of analytic systems infrastructure in the retail banking industry
- Excellent communication skills (English not mandatory) in order to influence a wide range of audiences in different organization layers / geographies.
- Strong analyst team leadership skill.
- Ability to identify strategic direction, challenge status quo and influence stakeholders and business partners.
- Capacity to learn fast from business initiatives and results and adapt those learnings to impact business.
- Ability to operate effectively in complex business environment.
