We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as a FP&A Manager, MENAT.
Role Purpose:
In this role, you will primarily be responsible for ensuring efficient execution, production and review and challenge of regional MI reporting, external reporting, forecasting and financial resource planning. This includes ownership of consolidated insights and analysis of financial performance to various stakeholder groups, including production of Board and various other governance forum reporting materials and development of key value-add insights / areas of focus, challenging Forecasting accuracy etc.
The role also includes full ownership of the MENAT Corporate Centre financial reporting and projections, including the SAB associate.
The successful candidate will be expected to support their line manager with various ad-hoc projects and lead the design and implementation of new technology, innovation and process improvement initiatives to support more insightful reporting and projection processes working across functions and businesses.
The role holder will also be expected to manage risk through enhancing controls and documentation, performing a read-across with other group entities, and simplifying processes and bases of preparation.
The role holder will work in partnership with senior management across Region, Asia and Group, supporting commercial, capital, and strategic decisions through insightful analysis. The role holder will provide a clear and critical analysis of financial performance, FRP and forecasts and support with various ad-hoc requests and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis and Insight
Ownership of core MI processes (actuals, forecast, FRP), working with business advisory & insight, ALCM, Regulatory and GFC teams to ensure timely co-ordination and robust production of:
• Core process analytical review, R&C materials and related actions (e.g. actuals vs target, prior month, forecast updates, target updates etc) in addition to development of projection accuracy / back-testing, key assumption collection (rates, NIBCA/IBCA, hedge) and key variance walks / explainers.
• Formal governance outputs containing relevant key points, outcomes and actions in various formats (Board paper / R&C materials / verbal) for stakeholders and forums including regional ExCo, Entity Boards / AuditCom, Asia & MENAT OpCo and Group equivalents (GEC and Board).
• Ad-hoc deep-dive analyses and development of focus area MI including, revenue sensitivity analysis e.g. NII rates/hedges/central reserve drivers, enhancing local RWA MI, expanding peer analysis, RoTE/EP sensitivity analysis.
Ownership of MENAT Corporate Centre & SAB Associate
• Ownership of the analytical review and projection assumptions and tooling for the regional Corporate Centre segment, including investigation and variance analysis of actuals vs plan, forecast and FRP projections (including ensuring recoveries, eliminations, funding of trading books is correct).
• Development of SAB associate modelling tools and liaison with other model SMEs within the team.
Innovation / Process Improvement & Teamwork
• Develop our innovation agenda including the design and implementation of new technology (incl. AI tools e.g. CoPilot), innovation and process improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and develop less experienced supporting team members.
• Support the wider team particularly in times of cover on related consolidation and projection deliverables.
• The role is key to support business leaders to make strategic and operational decisions that drive high performance across the bank.
• Work collaboratively with wider Finance team members and other functional colleagues both in region, sites, Asia and Group.
• Run processes in an auditable and transparent manner. Understand and implement robust controls and documentation.
Experience and Qualifications:
• Graduate Degree is required to secure a UAE Work Permit.
• Significant experience in large financial institution within Finance, ideally in Financial Planning & Analysis (or equivalent Finance Business Partnering) role.
• Strong analytical review capabilities and proven ability to drive consolidated MI and analysis, identify and explain key issues and outcomes succinctly in a written format.
• Experience in redesigning and implementing improvements with the buy-in from key stakeholders and initiating less complex projects independently.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, demonstrable evidence of exploring innovative technology solutions such as low code tooling (e.g. Anaplan, Xceptor, Alterxy, Python), and a genuine interest on wider technology developments (e.g GenAI).
• Experience in directly managing high volumes of internal and external Governance related deliverables and deadlines, and ability to prepare consistent, high quality, relevant, formal governance materials.
• Experience in working through others, often at pace, to co-ordinate the production of analytical review materials and implement/drive change projects, including on unfamiliar or complex subject matter and across multiple locations.
