The Cybersecurity function is responsible for enabling the safe execution of HSBC’s global business priorities to enable them to support our growing customer needs and securing our customers financial future - grounded in mature, foundational controls that mitigate the latest cyber-attacks and advanced targeted threats by leveraging a data driven approach.
The Governance and Chief of Staff function ensures that the Group Information Security Officer (CISO) and Cybersecurity Management fulfil their duties by providing strategic direction, meeting objectives, and managing risks through precise and timely reporting and escalation to senior forums. Additionally, we assist the Group CISO to manage internal and external stakeholders, oversee performance, and handle ad-hoc tasks.
What you’ll do
The role holder will ultimately be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of Cyber governance framework outcomes aligned to industry and regulatory standards, including the collection of evidence, to demonstrate the effectiveness of Cyber governance and support our regulatory assessments.
Cybersecurity Governance Lead will work closely with team members of all levels of the Cybersecurity functions, including Cybersecurity Leadership Team, Delivery leads, Programme Managers and Control Owners as well as wider GCIO function and various partner functions such as Legal, ERM and Regulatory Engagment. The role will report directly to the Global Head of Cybersecurity Governance.
Responsibilities:
• Accountable for the effective management and facilitation of Cybersecurity Leadership meetings, including alignment to various other senior executive committees.• Accountable for the accurate Action Management across Cybersecurity via Digital Governance Platform and as well responsible for the timely closure of assigned Actions from other committee assigned to Global CISO.• Responsible for the alignment of internal Cybersecurity Leadership meetings to the newly developed governance framework ensuring the readiness for AI.• Responsible for the end-to-end management of Cyber Balance Scorecard, including working with stakeholders to agree appropriate corrective measures.• Responsible to improve internal Cybersecurity information & knowledge sharing with relevant stakeholders to further drive communication of strategy and priorities• Supporting the end-to-end preparation of regular Executive, Board and Committee level papers and presentation on the performance and priorities of Cybersecurity across the Group, and on key topical reports as required.• Supporting the preparation of material for external presentations and briefings for the Group CISO• Working with Delivery Leads across Cybersecurity to build lean and efficient Governance & Reporting processes across Cybersecurity
Required skills:
• Experience of writing Board level reports in a clear and coherent manner, including strong analytical and written presentation skills with ability to work under pressure with high accuracy and attentiveness to detail.• Experience in organising, managing and facilitating senior management meetings• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and interpersonal skills• A team-focused mentality with the proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and a strong sense of ownership.• An ability to build effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same.• An ability to communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing, in an easily-understood, authoritative and actionable manner.• Knowledge of Cybersecurity is an advantage but not a must.
