Your career opportunity
Financial Crime IT department is responsible for identifying, analysing and investigating financial crime risks, and ensuring that these risks are properly mitigated within HSBC. The aim of the project is to create a secure and scalable platform that utilises generative AI to automatically generate concise, accurate insights, empowering investigators to quickly assess relevant information, identify suspicious patterns, and accelerate investigations.  
We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer with broad expertise in deploying and operating microservice-based applications to Google Cloud Platform.


What you’ll do 
    • Be responsible for deploying and operating microservice-based application that uses generative AI to aid financial crime investigators in their work.
    • Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, secure and reliable code using approved design and coding standards.
    • Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and complete development, testing and deployment of the solution.
    • Collaborate with Frontend, Backend, Data and other DevOps Engineers being part of the scrum team to achieve project goals.
    • Ensure that technical and coding standards, as well as Agile and DevOps practices are followed in the team.

What you need to have to succeed in this role 
    • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and operating deployment pipelines in cloud-native environments.
    • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with GCP (Cloud Run, GKE, BigQuery), Docker, Jenkins, and Git.
    • Solid understanding of infrastructure as code (Terraform) and automation best practices.
    • Extensive experience with microservices deployment, monitoring, and scaling in Kubernetes and Cloud Run.
    • Proficient in scripting and automation using Bash, Python, and Unix/Linux tools.
    • Experience implementing and managing robust CI/CD workflows and release management processes.
    • Familiarity with service mesh, API gateways, and cloud networking concepts.
    • Proven track record of delivering reliable, scalable, and secure cloud solutions for large-scale projects.
    • Ability to collaborate with development and business teams to translate requirements into automated, production-ready infrastructure.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to quickly learn new technologies and cloud services.

Nice to have:
    • Experience in front-end and back-end development using JavaScript (React) & Java.
    • Knowledge of data analysis and data management concepts (ETL).
