Your career opportunity
The job holder would be a part of Valuation team within Product Control Krakow. Main responsibilities include ensuring that financial instruments of the Global Markets Business are appropriately valued and controlled with respect of best practices which incorporate IFRS accounting standard, HSBC Group policies, procedures and other relevant guidance.

What you’ll do
    • Supervise the end to end process for FVA (Fair Value Adjustment) and IPV (Independent Price Verification) calculations for multiple entities.
    • Oversee preparation of PVA (Prudent Valuation) and FVL (Fair Value Levelling).
    • Work on improving controls and implementing valuation methodologies.
    • Review appropriate Management Information for various committees globally.
    • Monitor Valuations model restrictions and recommendations globally.
    • Deliver a single view of the P&L and Balance Sheet through cooperation with Business Financial Control and Core Product Control.
    • Build relationships with key stakeholders including other Product Control functions, Quantitative Analytics, Front Office, Market Risk Management, IT and Operations.
    • Reengineer and streamline of processes to achieve economy of scale and increased service quality.

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • University graduate in financial or economic subject or university graduate in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or similar.
    • Excellent understanding of financial instruments and valuation techniques.
    • Advanced Excel is a must, knowledge of VBA, Access & SQL is preferred.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills allowing to manage relationships with multiple senior stakeholders.
    • Ambitious, driven and enthusiastic. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
    • Excellent written English and oral communication skills.
    • CFA / FRM qualification will be an asset.
