In this role you will:
- Manage and oversee High Net Worth (“HNW”) insurance in Bermuda, including Product, Distribution and Underwriting activities
- Establish distribution agreements and ongoing relationship management with international brokers, including owning the business plan and overseeing pipeline management and conversion
- Oversee all HNW (and related reinsurance) operations, including signing off HNW Enhanced Due Diligence (“EDD”) profiles
- Be accountable for the financial performance of HNW insurance business, including ownership of the business plan, strategy and figures
- Build sound relationships with internal and external partners, including international brokers, and Global Insurance Underwriting, Distribution and Product teams
- Develop and own appropriate controls to ensure that Distribution, Underwriting and Product decisions are made as per HSBC requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Proven understanding and solid experience in Bermuda offshore HNW insurance market
- Knowledge assisting with the sign off of Financial Crime Compliance risk decisions is desirable
- Solid commercial and entrepreneurial mindset with experience managing a team
- Excellent planning and communication skills, with the ability to develop sound relationships with a variety of stakeholders across seniorities and geographies
- Ability to self-start tasks, work independently, and take initiative when required
