The HSBC Israel Head of People is positioned as a key role in the senior management layer within Country. The Head of People is considered a Key Function Holder and as such is a member of the Country Executive Committee and is responsible for the execution of HSBC’s people strategy in the country and input on the operationalization of the strategic design alongside managing cost, risk and controls, business continuity and crisis management of the Entity People plan. 
This role has accountability for ensuring Country compliance with all local regulatory requirements relevant to the people function. HSBC Israel is a branch of HBEU.
The role also works closely with the Head of Global Innovation Banking to drive the global people agenda for Innovation Banking; a fast growing business within CIB.

The Head of People provides strategic People leadership to the business to align the people plans with the business strategy and drive the implementation of people processes to enable business performance. You will provide the Bank’s strategic direction and stewardship for the People Function. This role reports to the Chief Executive & Head of Banking in Israel and to the Head of People, Banking Europe & Americas and Infrastructure Finance HSBC in London.

In this role, you will:

  • As the People Partner in the HSBC Israel EXCO team, provide People leadership and stewardship to advise, challenge, monitor and report on people strategy(s) execution and operational people matters.
  • Act as a change agent, drive people practices in culture and organization development, critical capability building, leadership development, talent management and succession planning as well as competitive resourcing strategy.
  • Lead all relevant regulatory and compliance matters and the management of operational risks in HSBC Israel.
  • Be a key advocate to uplift the conduct and culture in the workplace.
  • Lead the People Function and team in HSBC Israel and formulate plans to deliver people strategies across the entity, including Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Learning & career development, Wellbeing, Performance & Reward, Mobility, People operations, Vendor management, Payroll and volunteering activities.
  • Build change capacity in the People Function to lead and drive transformation, bring improvement in service delivery and team productivity through on-going development of People capabilities and fostering new ways of working.
  • Engage and provide input to regional people initiatives, Global People policy and solutions design and deployment plans, considering corporate requirements, commercial considerations and resource deployment to ensure smooth execution across the whole portfolio of business lines in the entity.
  • From time to time act as People lead supporting regional People projects in Corporate and Institutional Banking Europe including transition projects, working closely with People function colleagues and senior stakeholders to support business initiatives and mitigate People risks.
  • Lead the implementation of the Bank’s People strategy for Global Innovation Banking, based on business priorities and needs, enhancing global people culture and engagement. Work closely with the Head of Global Innovation Banking, senior leadership and People stakeholders to design and drive people plan such as Org design, Career progression, Succession plan, high performance and Reward.

You should apply if you have:

  • Significant experience in People, with demonstrated success a in People senior leadership role, being part of an EXCO.
  • Proven track record in leading the People Function of a multinational organization, developing talents, raising standards within the function and improving the profile of People Function within an organization.
  • Deep functional expertise and mastery of People competencies including business impact, relationship and consultancy, change management including leading transformation projects and operational excellence.
  • Strong business partnering and customer focus, strategic mindset, seasoned and professional judgement and counsel for the business, empowering team leadership and seamless collaboration with senior management.
  • Well versed in all areas of People practices bringing critical thinking and balanced view to bear on the breadth of business and people challenges, and agile ways of working to navigate through complexities and change with a strong result focus.
  • An interpersonal style that elicits trust, open mindedness and co-operation and one that builds inclusive and collaborative working relationships throughout large organization.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the stature and credibility to effectively serve senior leadership and collaborate with senior business executives across a global organization and manage a multitude of internal, external and regional & global stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of Israeli labor laws, regulations and best practices in People management.
  • Experience in a global Financial Institution with international reach is advantageous.
  • Bachelor or above degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proficiency in both English and Hebrew.
