We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of Server Infrastructure Delivery
In this role, you will: ·
• Build the server infrastructure that supports HSBC’s technology services in our Global Data Centres.
• Provide services to our Technology colleagues to reconfigure infrastructure as may be required.
• Lead and Mentor several PODs (over 60 colleagues) to deliver the best service possible in line with HSBC Technology strategy.
• Work with our internal customers to ensure mutually successful outcomes, using your judgement to prioritise delivery and maximise value for the bank.
• Ensure the Delivery PODs have optimised processes, and the tools/automation required to deliver efficiently.
• Collaborate with colleagues in other infrastructure areas (e.g. networks, storage, data centre management) and external parties (e.g. hardware vendors) to ensure joined up delivery of a cohesive set of products.
• Ensure all infrastructure is delivered to the quality standards required to support critical business applications.
• Manage risk and compliance in line with risk appetite of the Bank
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or demonstrable experience) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
• Have 12+ Years IT experience with large scale IT Infrastructure fulfilment. Including Linux, Windows, server Hardware, VMware products, networks, storage, data centre installations and automated tools/processes.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
• Be proficient in managing the entire lifecycle of hardware and software, from planning and deployment to maintenance and decommissioning.
• Understand the importance of Customer Success Management
• Be able to understand and interpret technology strategy to ensure all outcomes are aligned and managed appropriately – including the management of risk in line with controls.
• Use commercial skills to understand how technology operates as a business function and ensure financial impact is considered when making decisions.
