We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Lead  People Solutions and Advice  Infrastructure India, Sri Lanka

Location- Hyderabad and Bangalore

Principal responsibilities

  • Design, implement, streamline policies and procedures ensuring alignment with local employment legislative provisions and HSBC Group framework.

  • Provide strategic advice on PS&A (People Solutions and Advice) aspects to HR team(s) / Business on a wide variety of employment matters utilizing appropriate approach / methodology to identify associated risks with actions / decisions.

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of the labour laws, Group Policies provide strategic inputs and appropriate resolution complex ER (Employee Relations) issues, ensuring compliance with regulations and Group standards.

  • Understand Business / Functional requirements and Policies provide strategic inputs and appropriate resolution aligned with local employment legislative provisions and HSBC Group framework.

  • Provide strategic guidance for development and implementation of Business Change / Transformation programmes. Partner for execution of complex Business Change / Transformation programmes and provide innovative solutions for effective resolution of bottlenecks / challenges.

  • Oversee, track & monitor PS&A service delivery metrics and provide trends / insight to various Entity / Regional / Global Governance Forums.

  • Effectively engage and manage relationships with legal counsels; work on litigation strategy with respect to employment disputes; ownership & accountability for outcomes

  • Foresee critical ER situations within the country and advise HR and Business on the implications; proactively define mitigation mechanisms and plans

  • Provide day-to-day direction and mentorship to team members, ensuring professional service delivery, skill development, and workload balance.

  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and changes in employment laws to ensure the organization remains compliant and maintains a competitive employee relations strategy.

  • Act as a point of escalation, coach and provide guidance for HR Colleagues, Business Stakeholders (across levels) on complex concerns / whistleblowing investigations for effective resolution.

  • Build strong relationships with various internal stake holders i.e. HR Team, Internal Legal, Specialist Functions for seamless delivery of PS&A objectives.

  • Ensure compliance to Legal entity/ Country regulatory, and other local matters while operating within defined Global Standards

  • Ensure appropriate consolidation, quality audit and reporting on all PS&A aspects for GSC & HTC sites.

  • Partner with Risk Team to undertake periodic risk assessment of Employment Practices & Relations Risk for the entities in scope and develop remediation action plan as appropriate.

  • Ensure compliance of organizational policies with legal requirements; and participate in audit when requested

Requirements
  • Post Graduation in Human Resources or equivalent with 15+ years of experience in Human Resource function & atleast 10 years of experience in Employee Relations.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing strategy, managing ER policies, processes, and practices in a global and matrixed environment with a strong track record of establishing credibility, maintaining integrity, and delivering desired results for stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge and application of employment laws (federal & state) applicable to India & Sri Lanka.

  • High business acumen and ability to understand changing business trends

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, handling sensitive matters with confidentiality, empathy, and cultural awareness.

  • Effectively consult (listen, understand, and influence) people at all levels (including senior leadership) in a qualitative and quantitative manner.

  • Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills to assess situations objectively and provide effective solutions.

  • Ability to make rational decisions and navigate through complex scenarios with minimal guidance or supervision

  • Ability to work with and constructively influence senior stakeholders across the function & business.
