We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager Business Financial Crime Risk - WHOLESALE NON-FINANCIAL RISK C.

Principal responsibilities

Reporting to the Guangzhou Lead of ASP WSB BFCR, this role will ensure overall operational effectiveness is maintained and, where applicable, enhanced to achieve lasting embedment of a strong culture of FCR management. High level responsibilities will include:

  • Promote the effective execution of end to end controls to mitigate Financial Crime Risk for Wholesale, comprising Money Laundering, Sanctions, Bribery & Corruption and Fraud.  This role will have large focus to support Senior Manager, BFCR to manage and oversight the end-to-end process and controls for HASE HK Wholesale (CMB and GB) Customer Selection and Exit Management (CSEM).  This role is critical from both CSEM and RRCSC perspective considering the upcoming US Executive Order (“EO”) implementation and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policy escalation controls.
  • Advisor to Frontline RMs and CSEM Ops and provide guidance on CMB and GB CSEM procedures and processes.
  • Engage local Business, regional and local Risk Stewards, regional WCSEM to facilitate the ASP RRCSC and Global GRRC tabling and decision on Wholesale client that posing significant reputational or financial crime risk to the bank.
  • Oversight CSEM Operation output quality and CSEM KCIs/KRIs to monitor the control effectiveness.
  • Thematic review on CSEM triggers to enable NFR and Senior Management to oversight CSEM trend and control effectiveness.
  • Perform Constrained Exit review to enable the bank to execute exit decision and prevent potential reputational damage.
  • Audit / Compliance Assurance / MSII read-across in relation to findings in CSEM.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's Degree is preferred. 5 years’ minimum experience in Financial Institutions or similar risk management areas (e.g. major consultancy firms)
    • Knowledge of the HSBC Wholesale Business and financial crime risk management lifecycle and control framework, including relevant processes and Bank systems. 
    • Experience in project management, policy and procedure review and implementation t is preferred.
    • Self-motivator, able to work independently but with a good sense of where escalation is required.
    • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
    • Organized and logical thinker, with good understanding of the importance of well-defined processes and governance.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and an eagerness to develop strong partnership.
    • Strong written and verbal communication (English essential) and presentation skills. Cantonese and Mandarin communication skills desirable but not essential.
    • Experience in documenting and maintaining procedures and in writing and delivering clear and effective guidance.

    Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
