The Compliance function is a Second line of defence (LOD) function, responsible for reviewing and challenging the activities of the businesses to ensure that they effectively manage Compliance risks inherent in or arising from the conduct of their activities and for which they are responsible. The Compliance function is a Risk steward for a number of non-financial risks in accordance with the Bank’s risk framework.
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Regulatory Compliance Risk Steward Oversight (RC RSO). RC RSO plays a key role in supporting Compliance leadership and driving strategic regulatory initiatives across the organization. This role ensures strong governance, effective oversight, and alignment with global regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Support execution of Regulatory Compliance strategies with a focus on risk mitigation and business impact
- Maintain oversight of regulatory risk and ensure effective reporting to governance bodies
- Collaborate with Compliance and Risk teams to evaluate the effectiveness of the regulatory compliance framework
- Manage and communicate the regulatory risk view across governance meetings and committees
- Maintain and enhance the compliance risk taxonomy within the operational risk framework
- Oversee risk appetite reporting, providing in-depth analysis and insights to senior leadership
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the risk appetite framework, supporting countries and business lines
- Effectively manage and mitigate non-financial risk

We are seeking a seasoned Compliance professional with a strong background in governance or oversight functions. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of HBID’s structure, business operations, and corporate culture. Key qualifications include:

- Proven experience driving significant change initiatives
- Strong operational risk management capabilities
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with sound judgment under pressure
- Strategic, lateral thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, including executive-level engagement
- A track record of developing effective, practical solutions to complex global challenges
