We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role Microsoft Power Platform Site Reliability Engineer

Role Purpose:

The Power Platform Site Reliability engineer will work within the global AWS Cloud Services team and will be responsible for supporting highly resilient, scalable, reusable and performant Power Platform infrastructure.

Reporting to the Power Platform SRE Lead and working across the AWS Cloud Services team, Microsoft and Cyber Security to ensure that the infrastructure we deliver are in a continuous state of improvement. We operate within a cloud native environment and have a mature DevOps Chapter that you will be working closely with to achieve reliability to DevOps velocity.

Main Activities

  • You will serve as an SRE champion across infrastructure and application improvements.

  • Monitor and manage HSBC Power Platform Foundation platform to enable application deployments.

  • Monitor Microsoft service health alerts, product update and share with engineering team and business.

  • Conduct root cause analysis for underlying issues and incidents that affect systems performance and availability, identifying and resolving errors to minimize re-occurrence.

  • Update support and operational documentation as required.

  • Monitor Power Platform support request queue, triage and assign to appropriate engineering team.

  • Engineering activities to implement patches and support software package provided centrally.

  • Input and make recommendations for improvement of our monitoring and incident response.

  • Working with both technical and non-technical colleagues and responsible for ensuring business SLI/SLO’s are met and are ever improving.

  • Be a recognised and trusted partner for business application owners and other technology teams who seek to make use of Cloud based infrastructure.

  • Highlight areas of improvement within our infrastructure design for improve resilience and see these changes through to production with assistance from our feature delivery team.

  • Maintain and advance deep technical skills and knowledge, keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights, and share within the technical community

  • HSBC standards Business contingency standards

  • Deliver in self-contained or team environment

  • Out of hours’ coverage as per roster

  • Perform other duties as assigned or required

  • Support non-functional testing

Requirements
  • Strong understanding of the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power, Data Loss Policies, On-Premises Data Gateways, Environments Management, Storage Management, etc).

  • Understanding of AWS Services (e.g. AWS DevOps, AWS Monitor, AWS Health Notification, AWS KeyVault, Application Insight, KQL, vNet, etc.)

  • Proficiency in automation and scripting (e.g. PowerShell, C# and Python)

  • Experience in dealing with multiple support groups that contribute to a service.

  • Understanding of CI/CD best practise – coding, tooling and techniques.

  • Experience with incident management and problem solving.
