We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Delivery Head
In this role, you will:
- Devise, implement, and oversee performance and reliability strategies across various HSBC WPB product lines.
- Contribute to the overall process improvement of the Performance Engineering discipline within Channels Transformation.
- Design and implement solutions to evaluate and enhance the performance and scalability of API, web, mobile apps, and cloud-native platforms.
- Support the design and evaluation of new tools, frameworks, and techniques to enhance system performance and stability.
- Mentoring team members to foster professional growth and technical skill enhancement, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
- Defining and communicating a clear vision for performance engineering, aligning team goals with broader business objectives.
- Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive performance best practices and influence stakeholders to prioritize performance considerations.
- Leading efforts to identify and implement innovative solutions that enhance performance engineering capabilities.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Performance Engineering certifications) is a plus.
- Minimum of 15 years in performance engineering, with a proven track record of leading performance initiatives in complex technology environments.
- Performance monitoring tools (e.g., AppDynamics, New Relic)
- CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
- Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript)
- Expertise in performance engineering, testing, and tuning microservices/APIs on cloud-based PaaS platforms (Docker, Kubernetes), web/mobile apps (iOS & Android).
- Exposure to industry-standard performance engineering and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Lighthouse).
- Experience in performance tuning through code/config/caching optimization, load balancing, distributed computing, self-healing, and code profiling.
- Strong monitoring, debugging, and root cause analysis skills, with experience using tools like AppDynamics, New Relic, Splunk, and DataDog.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Java, Shell, and Groovy.
- Strong stakeholder management and excellent communication skills.
