We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Publicity Lead, Pensions.

Principal Responsibilities

This role reports to the Customer Proposition and Publicity Head and will lead and mentor a small publicity team. There is one other team (Customer Proposition Team) under the Customer Proposition and Publicity Head. The key business objective of the role is to provide strategic direction in the Pension business publicity and external communication plan, such to facilitate the business in achieving its key business goals, and to implement such strategies through the publicity team and collaboration with the centralised WPB marketing team.  The publicity and external communication plan is targeted to promote and strengthen the brand of HSBC Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes in the market, particularly, to appeal to the business target customer segments, aid customer acquisition and retention effort, for both individual and corporate customers, and facilitate launch of key initiatives

In this role you will 

  • Have a deep understanding of the business product and customer propositions, identifying the unique selling points HSBC Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes, and leverage on those Unique Selling Points to build a holistic brand building strategy, which will be deployed through different above-the-line and below-the-line channels including advertisement, campaigns, media exposure, social media and other digital channels
  • Lead the team to manage the delivery of below-the-line internal and external events on a regular basis.
    Manage and deliver timely and quality communications to external customers for the Pension business via various customer communication channels such as Public Website, Mobile Banking, eDM blasting
  • Manage and deliver timely and quality communications to internal staff through internal channels such as intranet, internal seminars, to empower our frontline staff to portray a positive image of HSBC Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes to customers
  • Work closely with Group Communications for media coverage, media enquiry, media relationship, and award nominations for Pensions business
  • The role has a heavier focus on the formulation of strategy and driving the strategy than actual execution, which will be carried out by engaging with agencies and strong collaboration with other third parties such as WPB Marketing
Requirements

To be successful you will need

  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinker, with the ability to understand and to contribute to the holistic business plan, such to drive the holistic marketing and campaign strategy
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skill to ensure efficient and smooth working relationship within team and externally with other departments, functions and entities
  • Ability to coach and train team members with strong strategic mind set, be able to identify potential project risks, be able to consider matters with a holistic approach but also pay adequate level of attention to details
  • Ability to balance priorities and resource allocation to deliver projects within budget, on time while achieving the key business objectives
  • Implement, control and monitor for customer campaigns, events, initiatives by formulating effective work plans with effective project management skills with respect to resourcing, reporting and risk management knowledge
  • Solid experience with track record in utilizing marketing effort to drive business results, and experience in brand management, marketing communications, advertising, public relations and event management
  • Experience in financial sector is an advantage
