The Asset Finance Relationship Director role is based within Commercial Banking Equipment Finance. 

The role of the Asset Finance Relationship Director operates in the Middle Market Enterprises (MME) sector and will be tasked with structuring high income, funding solutions that require face to face delivery due to either customer demand or by virtue of the nature of the deal.  

The role holder will identify, negotiate & effect the sale of hire purchase and leasing products of new customers and an established portfolio of facility customers. 

Central to the strategy of the Equipment Finance (EF) business is the delivery of a significant proportion of the product range via a field based mobile sales force, aligned to the Corporate and Commercial proposition.  

This strategy demands the development of a customer centric ideology that encompasses the needs-based sales approach, as it impacts across the Commercial sector.

Your responsibilities will include:

•    Maximises revenue growth through business development sales, developing effective strategies for winning new clients to generate new income for the Group.
•    Develop an appropriate calling plan to achieve goals and objectives efficiently and effectively.
•    Work in partnership with colleagues across the HSBC network to deliver exceptional standards and quality of service.
•    Achievement of new customers to EF Leasing, ensuring the composite target/plan is achieved with sales colleagues.
•    Provide leadership, support and coaching to junior and support staff as appropriate.
•    Demonstrate effective influencing skills with the Relationship Management (RM) population/wider Bank on a relationship level to utilise HSBC EF products or the most suitable method for structuring a transaction in any given set of circumstances.
•    Ensure integrity, quality, and timing of template submissions.
•    Deliver a high standard of service, resolving any/all identified issues promptly and escalate concerns to management as appropriate to ensure timely awareness of any material concerns.
•    Maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and implement and observe the Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators.

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

•    Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Equipment Finance would be advantageous.
•    Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Business development is essential, with experience of working towards and being assessed against sales targets.
•    Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Commercial banking is essential.
•    Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Asset purchase/Asset Leasing is desirable but not essential.
•    Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact is essential.
•    Experience of building and managing complex relationships with significant customers and proven experience of leading the delivery of excellent customer service is essential.
•    Experience of effectively using your knowledge of credit products, processes, and risks to make fair and informed lending decisions that meet customers' needs.
•    A good understanding of credit & risk is essential.
 
This is a hybrid role with coverage required for an area spanning South Wales, Devon and Cornwall and part of Bristol. Local offices are situated in Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter and the ideal candidate will be in easy commutable distance of this area to ensure client visits are managed effectively.
