Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) delivers internationally focused solutions for corporate and institutional clients across credit, international trade, payments, markets, and corporate finance. It includes Credit and Lending, Global Payments Solutions (GPS), Global Trade Solutions (GTS), Markets and Securities Services (MSS) and Investment Banking. CIB Audit team is responsible for covering all CIB activities, including:
- Corporate Credit and Lending activities across various client segments (e.g., large corporate, international middle market, global network banking, etc.)
- Markets and Securities Services, focused on traded markets activities covering a wide range of products such as interest rates, treasury / money markets, options, swaps, structured derivatives, foreign exchange, commodities, equities, fixed income bonds, repo, custody and clearing. Global Payment Solutions, facilitating global and domestic payments and providing cash management and liquidity management solutions
- Global Trade Solutions, specializing in trade finance, supply chain and receivable finance solutions
- Capital Markets & Advisory, covering Debt Capital Markets, Strategic Equity financing, Structured Finance, and various specialized lending solutions, include Leveraged Acquisition Finance, Infrastructure Finance, Commercial Real Estate, Asset Based Lending etc
As our Senior Audit Manager – Corporate and Institutional Banking you will:
- Lead multi-site and large single-site front-to-back audits for assigned segments across Global Internal Audit and be responsible for the execution of all stages in the audit lifecycle: announcement, team management and preparation, logistics, planning, fieldwork, testing, documentation and review, issue writing and agreement, report delivery, post-report issue validation, and ongoing stakeholder engagement
- Lead a team of auditors, through acting as a role model for junior team members and fostering an open and collaborative working culture
- Contribute to the wider development of Global Internal Audit, through collaborating with other audit teams, dedicating some of your time to consider how audit can use data analytics, agile techniques and other innovations to more efficiently and effectively deliver its objectives
- Support a program of continuous monitoring for a defined portfolio of businesses through regular bilateral meetings with senior stakeholders, participation in business governance forums, ongoing analysis of businesses’ risk profiles, and delivery of continuous monitoring reports
- Possess subject matter expertise of Commercial and Investment Banking products (including corporate lending, specialized lending, global trade finance and global payment solutions, etc), processes and controls and supporting functions (operations and compliance)
- Confirm compliance arrangements and internal controls are in place, including processes for management of operational risk, in accordance with Company and regulatory standards
- Influence positive change and discussion in relation to the governance and control framework, through a combination of point-in-time audit reviews, continuous monitoring and issue validation activities
- Maintain and enhance stakeholder relationships through regular bilateral meetings, appropriate challenge in business risk governance forums, and keeping in touch with business, regulatory and industry developments
- Ensure value-added audit work is completed in accordance with Audit Instruction Manual (AIM) requirements
For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $138,400.00 and $207,600.00
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
- Demonstrated experience in risk or control aspects gained within any of the 3 lines of defense functions (e.g. corporate lending, specialized lending, global trade finance and global payment solutions, Credit Risk, Regulatory Compliance, Internal Audit, etc). Experience in Global Markets products (fixed income, equities, corporate and government bonds and derivatives) is a plus
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, banking, business or similar degrees, a master’s degree is a plus
- An expert in general one or more business areas including corporate credit and lending, capital markets (e.g. FX, Fixed Income, treasury ), specialized lending, global trade finance and global payment solutions. Strong managerial skills and an effective communicator, verbally and in writing, with convincing presentation, persuasion and influencing skills, even when delivering difficult messages to senior stakeholders
- Dedicated to continually learning and improving your own skills, and assisting in people development, through peer-coaching, and contribution to training sessions
- Excellent at managing multiple competing priorities and assist defining priorities aligned with the Function’s goals
- An analytical thinker who is confident approaching areas outside of your expertise in a thorough and detailed manner, getting to the heart of the key features and aspects quickly
- A solid team player, with a demonstrable desire to help the team as a whole achieve its objectives
- Relevant certification(s) or industry accreditation (e.g., CIA, CFA, SISA) is a plus
- Experiences with data analytics is a plus
