We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist.

Business: Wealth & Personal Banking IT

Principal responsibilities

This role is responsible for managing a IT Service Management function or for providing subject matter expertise and leadership within an IT Service Management function in (DBS/Technology), a GB/GF or region.

This involves building / contributing to / implementing the relevant strategy, methodology, and adopting appropriate tools based on their knowledge and experience and through identifying industry best practice.

This role will carry out some or all of the following activities:

• Driving the maturity, implementation and adoption of HSBC’s Non-Financial Risk Management Framework and IT service management discipline best practice to ensure the appropriate application of policies, control standards and procedures.
• Supporting the technology team on managing technology risk internal events/ incidents, identifying issues and control gaps, designing and oversignt of risk mitigation activities to ensure risk governance structures remain effective, be alert to the identification of emerging risks, collaborating with CCO functions on the impact from risk taxonomy and control library changes.
• Active collaboration and partnership with business and technology teams, CIO functions, CCO functions, CITRO, cybersecurity team, global cloud service team, and all applicable 2LOD risk stewards to deliver collective goals in line with the strategies and priorities within technology risk governance framework to ensure the Bank, and our customers, are secure and protected.
• Managing technology risk of the products and services, including third party services, and define the service level agreement in accordance with business requirements.
• Leading on first, second and third line assurance reviews, external audits and any applicable Regulator inspections.
• Delivering insightful and evidence based risk position and/or acceptance papers to relevant governance committees, and by request of, or escalation to, the line of business and country risk management forums to ensure all relevant stakeholders and governance committees have visibility of key risks in a timely manner.

• Minimum 6 years’ relevant experience, preferably with banking or financial institutions experience, in risk management (technology risk and third party risk), compliance or audit area
• Experience in IT Procurement and project management would be advantageous
• Strong knowledge of risk management, controls and processes
• Persistent, resilient, flexible and resourceful. Comfortable working in an agile, complex and dynamic environment
• Excellent interpersonal communication and stakeholders management skills across all levels of management
• A strong team player with can-do attitude and ability to balance working independently with limited supervision  between working together as a team
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese
