We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Engineer.
Principal Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Deliver and provide support on IBM I system infrastructure configuration, in-house utilities setup, tape/backup configuration setup, and software products installation for system provisioning or user fulfilment requests delivery
- Deliver firmware, microcode, fix release on hardware or software products
- Manage and deliver regular IBM I system maintenance for IPL, patching and backup related housekeeping activities for HSBC business services to fulfill relevant service governance controls
- Deliver and provide support on IT projects in good quality accordingly to project schedule
- Understand user requirements, evaluate alternative options and to provide technology solutions based on given constraints.
- Provide consultancy and support in response to queries from users, operations and IT teams
- Provide investigation and support on incident/problem issue raised during system maintenance period
- Provide on-call rota support outside normal business hours, take an accountability and responsibility to identify the cause and provide resolution in case of any issue arise
- Follow standard HGSH best practice as laid out in HGSH procedures and design documents for the product and system and in accordance with general mandatory training when implementing new software / undertaking processes, as advised to the Supplier Personnel
To be successful you will need:
- University degree in computer science, information technology or a related discipline
- Solid experience in iSeries Operating System & Work Management skill. Experience/Knowledge on BRMS product, iSeries programming and Ansible development would be an advantage
- Knowledgeable in Change, Incident and Problem management processes, ideally using Service Now
- Maintain can-do attitude and stay positive towards challenges
- Able to work in flexible working hours
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with good command of written and spoken English
