The group is looking for a Senior Manager, Client Management whose key purpose is to retain and grow the current book of business with the assistance of the sales team, ensure profitability and client satisfaction within the services provided by the HSBC Securities Lending department. The individual will ideally have relevant 5+ years securities lending experience.

HSBC Agency Lending sits within Securities Services, part of the wider HSBC Markets and Securities Services (MSS) business. MSS provides a range of securities services to a client base which includes sovereign wealth funds, major insurance companies, asset managers, investment banks, government agencies, investment trusts, collective investment schemes, corporates, and pension funds. The service range includes global custody, sub custody, trustee and depository services, investment administration, performance consultancy, securities lending as well as treasury and FX. The business is globally located with major centers in locations including London, Hong Kong, New York, and Dubai. Assets under custody/administration totals c$5trn, total staff numbers exceed 3,000.

As our Senior Manager, Client Management you will:

  • Client Development
  • Manage securities lending clients to build positive experience and service satisfaction to achieve client retention, as well as to enhance and protect existing revenue streams
  • Provide a single interface to clients for the Securities Lending product
  • Establish strong and productive relationships with clients, ensuring current and future business requirements are understood and satisfied at all levels
  • Organize and conduct client service reviews to present on performance KPIs and opportunities
  • Ensure client queries are answered promptly and satisfactorily
  • Prepare market and industry commentary and newsletters
  • Ensure client performance reports are prepared accurately and timely fashion
  • Drive revenue growth from both existing and new clients pipelines
  • Gain understanding of client’s portfolio to identify areas of revenue growth
  • Work with global trading team to develop an execution strategy for clients
  • Coordinate trade opportunities between the trading team and clients
  • Involve with RFPs process including attending pitches with custody and deal teams
  • Project manage client onboarding with wider business functions in order to achieve smooth and speed to execution
  • Manage and drive results from different stakeholders to ensure onboarding is on-track
  • Serve as the conduit between the client and internal implementation and onboarding teams to ensure onboarding documents are in place
  • Work with product and development team on the bespoke setups for new clients
  • Be the client advocate within MSS and the Securities Lending department, challenging where appropriate from the client’s perspective

 Market and Product Development:

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the securities lending market and associated market infrastructure
  • In partnership with clients, Product Management and Operations, suggest and promote service enhancements and higher quality products
  • Continually improve industry survey rankings and individual client surveys when benchmarked against competitors in respect of the Securities Lending product offering

Strategic Development:

  • Understand and contribute to MSS strategic development and operating plans
  • Incorporate client requirements, both current and future, into plans
  • Discuss strategy with clients on a regular basis and obtain, where possible, details of client business plans that impact or provide opportunity for MSS and the Securities Lending department

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $155,700.00 and $200,000.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

  • Fluent in English is required and Mandarin Chinese is strongly preferred
