We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Software Engineer.
Principal responsibilities
- Contribute in all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Provide delivery advice with consideration of technical direction for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of HSBC IT systems to business.
- Develop an expert-level understanding of the appropriate business systems of the Group and their associated IT development requirements.
- Apply specialist expertise in the development of IT systems with the objective of optimizing operational performance and improving quality whilst increasing cost-effectiveness.
- Manage relationships at a product/service level with the business.
- Maintain and ensure due observance of HSBC Internal Control Standards, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal / external auditors and external regulators.
- Ensure awareness of compliance requirements and implementation of Group Compliance Policy.
Requirements
- Obtained, or expected to achieve, a 3.0 out of 4.0 GPA if you are studying in mainland China or a 2:1 or equivalent degree if you are studying outside of mainland China (as appears on your official university transcript or Degree certificate).
- Proficient in Chinese and English.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, or any other relevant language.
- Familiarity with fintech concepts, AI technologies, big data analytics, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
