We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Sr. Associate Director, Technology Management.
In this role, you will:
- Manage the relationship between GCBT and multiple Stakeholders. Stakeholders span various business lines and functions including Communications, Brand, Global Asset management and Finance.
- Provide necessary leadership to the technical conversation along with architects and solution designers and bridge the technical gap between stakeholders and delivery PODs.
- Manage the relationship between GCBT and other HSBC IT teams such as Architecture and Cyber Security to support core deliveries for the stakeholders.
- Pro-active management of the team’s relationships with the other technical product managers within GCBT, the business, third-party vendors and internal IT teams globally. Work closely with respective Product Owners to enable and support business outcomes.
- Work closely with external development agencies to ensure accountable delivery and integration of solutions to time and budget.
- Be a relationship point of contact on all technical matters with vendors in support of key project deliveries including, but not limited to, Microsoft Azure and Sitecore.
- Coach and support stakeholders in their utilization of Agile Frameworks such as SAFe, Scrum, Kanban & Lean. Be the ambassador for Colleague Experience Technology when facing off to stakeholders for delivery activities.
- Provide leadership and guidance to DevOps Pods of developers and engineers from across China, India, Poland and UK.
- End to end ownership of project deliveries in support of Global Communications and Brand IT with responsibility to ensure all work is completed in line with bank standards
- Being a technical advisor to stakeholders to determine the best solutions to achieve their designed outcomes, objectives and key results.
- Management of run and change budgets for stakeholders to ensure existing and new services are delivered in line with agreed financial targets, input to regular financial planning exercises in relation to infrastructure and software costs.
- Reporting and assessing financial metrics on a technology portfolio
- Planning technology spend e.g. annual technology budget planning
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Exceptional relationship management skills and experience required. A proven history of managing stakeholders at all levels of a Global organisation.
- 10+ years of experience working with technology teams in either an infrastructure, software delivery or Technical PM role.
- Proven experience leading software delivery teams in an Agile environment.
- Certified / Professional Scrum Master qualification. Certified / Professional Scrum Product owner qualification desirable.
- Experience leading projects and deliverables using both Agile and Waterfall techniques. PPM / Prince2 certification desirable.
- Experience of managing a medium-sized team across multiple locations, including remote workers.
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills, strong executive presentation and persuasion skills.
- Deep understanding of HSBC processes around technology delivery.
- High level knowledge around MS Azure, Akamai, Sitecore preferred to enable meaningful conversations with development, content and engineering teams.
- A higher education qualification in Computer Science (or similar) would be a significant advantage.
- Experience planning technology budget
- Experience managing and reporting financial metrics for a technology portfolio
- Experience with vendor management and contract renewal
