Risk

The Risk function, headed by the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), forms part of the second line of defence. The responsibility includes forward-looking risk identification and management and monitoring of the Bank’s risk profiles and It is independent from the first line to provide challenge and oversight to ensure proper balance in risk and return decisions.

 

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

 

In this role, you will:

Be responsible for coordinating with the Global Team to develop and deliver IFRS9 expected credit loss model, conduct internal and regulatory stress testing activities and implement BASEL III model in HBCN personal banking businesses.

• Manage and improve competitiveness of production and delivery of credit modeling strategies to HBCN personal banking businesses in achieving profit and growth targets.

• Be able to communicate and present effectively the analytics model and solution to senior management, regional risk teams and local business teams.

• Enable performance tracking solutions for all modeling strategies implemented to ensure that highest standards of quality are maintained. 

• Enhance and promote modeling best practices in modeling techniques, automation and management processes

• Provide learning environment and give staff timely performance feedback to engage and develop them.

• Maintain HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy and maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring.

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

    • Advanced Degree (MA) or above in math, statistics, science, engineering, computer science and other quantitative fields

    • 5+ years related work experience in Retail Risk Analytics industry;

    • Good knowledge of the Secured and Unsecured Lending products including credit cards, mortgage , consumer loans and etc;

    • Solid hands on experience in with one or more of SAS, Python and R.  Knowledge of Ali Cloud or visualization tool will be an advantage;

    • English proficiency in listening, reading, speaking, as well as writing.

    • Strong project management skills and solid general management experiences
