We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Liabilities Manager product, GPS HBCE.

In this role you will:

  • Manage product management processes and risks (identification and mitigation) relating to liquidity products across Europe.
  • Manage the deposit pricing governance process (LDDC) across Europe and actively manage the deposit portfolio, liaising with the Group Treasury/Market Treasury teams on all treasury-related pricing topics.
  • Lead Liabilities Management task, with a special focus on profitability, revenue growth and pricing across all currencies supported in region in order to maximize revenues through the growth of positive liquidity-value balances. Includes management of interest rate pricing strategies across all client segments, working closely with sales and regional liquidity teams.
  • Train front line teams on liquidity product pricing initiatives and respond to deposit pricing queries from Sales and Coverage teams across Europe.
  • Responsible in management of various aspects Europe Balance Sheet (i.e. Balances, NII, Betas, Portfolio composition) by providing regions with
  • Global guidance through monthly balance forecasting and annual planning cycle
  • Lead and represent GPS in Europe Liquidity and Liquidity risk forums as required to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness of Liability management reviews and processes.
  • Be the key GPS Liquidity liaison with internal stakeholders e.g. Treasury/ Finance/ ALCO/Regions, and interface with senior managers of Treasury and GPS in various GPS Liabilities and Treasury aspects.
  • Prepare periodic reporting and analysis on deposits trends and pricing for GPS , business line and ALCO forums
  • Lead business cases to the Liquidity Task Force analytics team for prioritization at the GPS Data & Analytics forums.
  • A leading partner in defining new solutions, identifying new opportunities and commercializing all aspects of our deposit management strategies by working with partners and stakeholders.
  • Lead and drive GPS asks between use-case owners and delivery teams, and/or act as SME to create commercial value through alignment with the business strategy.
Requirements

  • Very strong analytical skills with strong data storytelling and communication skills; specially analyzing and assessing large sets of data and communicating the story succinctly
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and to identify and assess the long-term, strategic implications for the Bank and its customers.
  • Ability to lead and motivate to ensure delivery of objectives in a timely, efficient, and effective manner.
  • Excellent relationship management, influencing and interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both within and across business units.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to help foster a culture of teamwork and knowledge sharing while also bring a dynamic, flexible can-do attitude.
  • Ambitious, self-driven and highly motivated individual with a deep desire to excel and develop a career within HSBC, should have demonstrated integrity and respect in the performance of their duties
  • A commercial outlook – able to connect numbers, performance drivers and ‘real world’ events with an ability to solve ambiguous or complex problems
  • Experience in liability management and liquidity risk is desirable or at least experience in cash management.
  • Able to demonstrate effective leadership skills and experience of operating within larger cross-functional organizations.
  • Expert knowledge of Key MS office systems such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc is must.
